Short Report aging woke up late agian.

Joining the ranks of artists like Madonna, Duran Duran, and Garbage, Chris Cornell will perform the theme song to the next James Bond film, Casino Royale, which stars Daniel Craig as the new Bond. With "You Know My Name," a collaboration with Bond composer David Arnold, Cornell becomes one of the few artists to both write and record a Bond theme -- Paul McCartney & Wings, Sheryl Crow, and Madonna are the others. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 17. "I've always loved Chris' work, both as a writer and as an artist, and had hoped someday to find the right film to inspire him," said Columbia Pictures' Lia Vollack, who heads the studio's worldwide music branch. "His music is both soulful and tough. It was the perfect complement to Daniel Craig and Casino Royale." British electronic mavens Goldfrapp had been rumored to be the next Bond songsmiths.

According to the group's label, Arts&Crafts, Do You Trust Your Friends, a "track for track interpretation" of Stars' last album, 2004's Set Yourself on Fire, featuring the interpretive skills of Broken Social Scene, Metric, the Dears, the Elected, and Junior Boys, among others, is due out in the fall.

And following the release of her country-tinged solo album Honey From the Tombs in May, Stars frontwoman Amy Millan is saddling up for a tour of her native Canada, making stops at the Hillside Festival in Guelph, Ontario and the Ottawa Folk Festival, as well as playing a New York show in October (her sole U.S. date at the moment).

At the moment, Stars only have two future shows scheduled: an appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 4 and one at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas on September 15.

loudQUIETloud, the Pixies reunion documentary that premiered earlier this year at South by Southwest's film festival, is now scheduled for a November 7 DVD release courtesy of MVD.

The film follows the band's reunion tour, unveiling the hardships of life on the road. Cry me an effing river.

As previously reported, another Pixies DVD, Pixies: Acoustic - Live in Newport, is also on its way. It will see release on Eagle Rock Entertainment come August 22.
