American Dreamz
On the morning of his re-election, the President decides to read the newspaper for the first time in four years. This starts him down a slippery slope. He begins reading obsessively, reexamining his black and white view of the world, holing up in his bedroom in his pajamas. Frightened by the President's apparent nervous breakdown, his Chief of Staff pushes him back into the spotlight, booking him as a guest judge on the television ratings juggernaut (and the President's personal fave), the weekly talent show American Dreamz. America can't seem to get enough of American Dreamz, hosted by self-aggrandizing, self-loathing Martin Tweed, ever on the lookout for the next insta-celebrity. His latest crop of hopefuls includes Sally, a conniving steel magnolia with a devoted, dopey veteran boyfriend, and Omer, a recent Southern Californian immigrant (who just happens to be a bumbling, show tune singing, would-be terrorist awaiting activation). When both Sally and Omer make it to the final round of Dreamz -- where the President will be judging along with Tweed -- the stage is set for a show the nation will never forget.
(Now that America Idol is over it you want to take out your anger on the show this movie is good and funny)
Failure to Launch
A thirtysomething man who still lives with his parents falls in love with the woman of his dreams and begins to suspect she has been hired by his parents as a way to get him out of the house.
(sort of my life, But it a so-so movie)
Inside Man
Four people dressed in painters' outfits march into the busy lobby of Manhattan Trust, a cornerstone Wall Street Branch of a worldwide financial institution. Within seconds, the costumed robbers place the bank under a surgically planned siege, and the 50 patrons and staff become unwitting pawns in an airtight heist. NYPD hostage negotiators Detectives Keith Frazier and Bill Mitchell are dispatched to the scene with orders to establish contact with the heist's ringleader, Dalton Russell, and ensure safe release of the hostages. Working alongside Emergency Services Unit (ESU) Captain John Darius, all are hopeful that the situation can be peacefully diffused and that control of the bank and release of those inside can be secured in short order. But Russell proves an unexpectedly canny opponent--clever, calm and totally in command--a puppet master with a meticulous plan to disorient and confuse not only the hostages, but also the authorities. Outside, the crowd of New Yorkers grows as the situation becomes increasingly intense tense, with Frazier's superiors becoming more concerned about his ability to keep the standoff from spiraling out of control. The robbers appear to consistently be one step ahead of the police, outwitting Frazier and Mitchell at every turn. Frazier's suspicions that more is at work than anyone perceives are justified with the entry of Madeline White, a power player with shadowy objectives, who requests a private meeting with Russell. The chairman of the bank's board of directors, controlling entrepreneur Arthur Case, is also uniquely interested in the moment-to-moment happenings inside the branch. But just what are the robbers after? Why has nothing worked to alleviate the standoff, which stretches on hour after hour? Frazier is convinced that invisible strings are being pulled and secret negotiations are taking place as the powder keg situation grows more unstable by the moment.
(Good action Filck)
Stay Alive
After the mysterious brutal death of an old friend, a group of teenagers find themselves in possession of "Stay Alive," a next generation horror survival videogame based on the true story of a 17th-century noblewoman known as "The Blood Countess." The gamers don't know anything about the game other than the fact that they're not supposed to have it--and they're dying to play it. Not able to resist temptation, the group begins to play the grisly game and soon a chilling connection is made--they are each being murdered one-by-one in the same method as the character they played in the game. As the line between the game world and the real world disappears, the group must find a way to defeat the vicious and merciless Blood Countess, all the while trying to stay alive.
(Oh my god andored boring flick)
The Benchwarmers
Gus and his nerdy buddies, Richie and Clark, are scouted by a millionaire nerd, Mel, who wants to form a baseball team and compete with the meanest Little League teams in the state. A stellar ballplayer, Gus becomes a role model for nerds and outcasts everywhere. But when his fans learn that Gus, himself, was once a school bully, they feel outraged and betrayed, until Gus takes extraordinary steps to win back their admiration and trust.
(Not a Funny filck)
V for Vendetta
Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked vigilante known only as "V." Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V urges his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression. As Evey uncovers the truth about V's mysterious background, she also discovers the truth about herself--and emerges as his unlikely ally in the culmination of his plot to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with cruelty and corruption

And No i am not going to be the 978th person to tell you Taylor Hicks is the New American Idol who beat Katharine McPhee Last Night on fox but i will have admit she do have nice curved and she don't look like posh spiced (Spice Girls Vic Beckham) in a fat suit.(As suguess for VH1 Best week ever Blog at VH1.com)
Let begin on the one and only Jack white and his new band The Raconteurs crash the Billboard Top 200 (or the indie kids like to call it the Brought and paid for 200) Landing at No.7 on the charts selling 61,000 copies that good, but jack also stike aging by call the the Detroit Rock Music Sence Âsuper-negative in a interview with the Associated Press he told the AP hcouldud not take it anymore in Detroit.
He say "It was so super-negative, ÂIt was draining me, I had to get somewhere where I could breathe again. he also say that he tried to help boost the cityÂs rock scene  working with unknown bands and acting as its musical ambassador  some in the community didnÂt appreciate it.ÂI was just trying to fight a losing battle, trying to keep a community of musicians together and keep it positive at the same time, he said. ÂI did that part of trying to be nonegotistical, I tried to not make it about myself. Hexampleet a exsmaple after read a recent articte in a New York publication that lambasted the homegrown band The Strokes.ÂWhen that happens, you canÂt stay in your hometown, he said. ÂBecause theyÂll just turn on you.Â
Jack who now live in Nashville, TN with his wife model Karen Elson, and their baby daughter, Scarlett Detroits battle in detroit once his other band "the white Stripfirstot Famous.
frist he got into a brawl with Von Bondies Frontman Jason Stollsteimer on 12/13/03 he was charge with aggravated guiltylt, But plead gulty on just simple assault was fined $750 and order to attend anger management But serve no jail time, Then his he got sue by producer Jim Diamond ovfirstyalies on the frist two white stripes CD (1999 " The White Stripes and 2000 "De Stijl iJunell be heard on june the 12th)and blast Ex-Metrotimes Music Writer Chris Handyside on his book about the stipes "Fell in Love with a Band : The Story of The White Stripes" a day after a review in the Metrotimes by handyside rips the last White Stripes "Get Behind Me Satan"
It look like Jack will trieDetroity away from detroit as possable, And Dont forget his new band The RaAnnteurs will play ann arbor on August 5.
Also i was suprised to read in the Free Press despiteET-FM is so despied to win back the fans after they became a dung FM of WWJ-AM duing the Day they have hired as a weekend DJ: Dirtbombs front man Mick Collins yes friends the station have Hirpopularof the most popualr front man in detoit (and a good DJ who is one of the good guys of Detroit Music) to host a show accordinght Train" Accroding to Collins From a press Release from WDET "Using the metaphor of a train journey, the basic idea behind the show is to give listeners four musical 'journeys, some familiar and others not so familiar, consisting or either a genre or an artist (i.e., 'Tonight's stops: Exotica, Pere Ubu, Joe Williams, or Roberta Flack'), or a specific place and time (e.g. 'Detroit, 1961', or 'Philadelphia, 1971'), or even a concept ('Freedom Music' or 'Southern big-horn funk bands')." the show was prefect for him says WDET Program Director Allen Mazurek ÂWhen we were looking for a Saturday night host, I thought about WDETÂs long history of opening its doors to musicians and artists of all types and letting them explore their musical interests in ways that go beyond what they do in a recording studio or concert stage, Because of his musical interests, and given his place in DetroitÂs music history, MickÂs was one of the first names that came to mind.Â

How about that stage jump by Kaiser Chiefwasn'ttman Ricky Wilson because if was'nt for that i would report as Breaking news he would died after getting hit by a car, But thanks god for that stage jump, According to the band's website, Wilson was crossing the street in Leeds Sunday evening when a car hit him and drove away. Wilson "escaped with minor injuries, a broken toe and bruising" thanks to the magical powers of rock n roll, as he utilized a bit of his trademark manic stage choreography to dodge the vehicle. "It sounds daft, but a 'Ricky trademark jump' has probably saved his life. The jump meant he was flipped over the top of the car, hitting the windscreen, rather than getting trapped under it."
andMondaying of a item i post back on monday about the Flaming Lips puting on a gigtheaterrday August 4 at the State theather Downtown. (The Headline in the Finnish Newspaper HELSINGIN SANOMAT)
How this happened?
Off all people or groups who sang it heart out in a song contest that is often mocks and ignored by most surrius music fans this one among them for have the cheesy and crapest song ever it will take you less then four days to forget the whole thing, Some how some way a Finnish Monster Rock band whose a lot of Finnish where afraid that would bring nation shame and church leaders who was worried they would they would begin to worship satin to the Finnish youth won Europe biggest music contest: The 51th Eurovision Song Contest.
The Heavy metal rock band "lordi" beat out 23 other country including fave Sweden, Greece, and the UK (which have a good entry "This is teenage Life" by UK rapper Daz Simpson which finish 19th out of 24) to win the contest Saturday Afternoon(Saturday Night in UK) when there song " Hard Rock Hallelujah"scored a record breaking 292 points outpaceing Russia by 42 points, The Band who sport heavy makeup and sport battle arme was the talk of the of the contest before they got to Greece (where it was held) because it was a rock band, not a pop of tradrion native folk band and worst it was one of those ulgy GWAR like look rock band you would was to play the Magic Stick but more likely the dive bar in the middle of nowhere.
Many Finnish people were so scared they would be a nation embearment they even tried to plead the Finnish President Tarja Halonen to veto the choice and sent some body else better then a heavy metal act, But they perform and it break Finland 40 years of losing at contest and now they will have to put on the the Contest Next Year in the Finnish Capiot of Helsinki, only problem there home broadcaster The Finnish Broadcasting Company is cash-stapped ouch!
If you want to see what the hub-bud about you can go to youtube.com and type in Eurovision in the you can see the winning song as well as the UK enter live and the Video for "this is teenage Life" and yes the Worst song of the contest which got a lot of jeers form LT United representing LITHUANIA, The Song is call "We Are Winners" Yuck
oh buy the way if you want to hear the three hour cheese fest it avblie until Saturday afternoon at 3 PM at www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 and you probole won't remember what happened after that.
That was the only bad thing that happened over the week.
The good thing that happened over the weekend
As the pistons pull off the Great escape by winning in Cleveland on Friday Night 84 to 82 to force game seven back in Detroit where after a three game absent the defense came back at the place and as the Detroit Free Press say it "D-throned!" and sent King LeBron and his merry Men Back to Cleveland with 79 to 61 victory, Tayshaun Prince have 20 points to take the series in seven and now we await the Miami Heat Which will start tomorrow Night at the place and the rest of the seriers goes something like this:
EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS:
PISTONS VS. HEAT
Game 1, Tuesday: Miami at Detroit, 8 p.m., ESPN
Game 2, Thursday: Miami at Detroit, 8 p.m., ESPN
Game 3, Saturday: Detroit at Miami, 8 p.m., ESPN
Game 4, May 29: Detroit at Miami, 8 p.m., ABC
* Game 5, May 31: Miami at Detroit, 8 p.m., ESPN
* Game 6, June 2: Detroit at Miami, 8 p.m., ESPN
* Game 7, June 4: Miami at Detroit, 8 p.m., ABC
* if necessary
And what better then that is the Detroit Tigers Best record in major league Baseball Baby at a fun 29 and 14 a game better the white Sox (28-15) and slight a half game better than the NL Leaders St.Louis at 29-15 and were slowly getting fans back on the Wagon and probley get more fans Back after the finals.
This week it four with Kansas City Royals at KC and the Cleveland other team at our home turf for thecno weekend.
And speaking of thecno weekend let see the forecast for this upcoming weekend.
Local 4casters says Sunshine all weekend long with temp for 79 to 84 by Monday
now let goes outside the 313 for some good indie rocks news from the only bands that matters
From Pitchfork.com
Belle & Sebastian Tap Franz, Lips for Benefit Comp
They've come full circle: Belle and Sebastian, the band named after a children's book, is now making music for children. B&S's Mick Cooke has curated an as-yet-untitled compilation CD benefiting the non-profit Save the Children organization, slated for release September 11 on Rough Trade in the UK. It features children's songs from Franz Ferdinand, Four Tet, Snow Patrol, the Flaming Lips, the Fiery Furnaces, Kathryn Williams, the Divine Comedy, Travis, Jonathan Richman (aren't all of his songs children's songs?), and Rasputina, among others. So far, only the title of Rasputina's contribution ("A Skeleton Bang") has been revealed.
Spoon Reissue Early Recordings
Remember Merge's plan to reissue the first two Spoon records sometime this year? Well, it seems that sometime is upon us. eBay hotcakes Telephono and the Soft Effects EP will be re-released on Merge come July 25. The pair will be packaged together as a double-disc; while no bonus tracks have been tacked on to either album, the video for "Not Turning On" will be included.
Speaking of videos, Spoon recently debuted the Ryan Junell-directed clip for "The Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine" on their site. So scope that out.
From CMJ.COM
Cursive Scripts Summer Dates
Cursive, everyone's favorite Conor Oberst-less Saddle Creek act, has announced a summer mini-tour. The band will bring thier salient brand of post-emo indie rock to select cities this July in preparation for a full-length fall tour to support their forthcoming album, Happy Hollow, out August 22. The band completed the album earlier this spring and are paring it down to 14 songs from the 20 laid down during recording. Cursive is also slated to take on a Lollapalooza slot which, hopefully, won't find them wedged between Mute Math and School of Rock, so as not perpetuate any terrible academic puns.
The Closest gig to Detroit is July the 6th at the Temple Club in Lansing
The Knife To Get US Distribution
Swedish electro-popsters The Knife have inked a deal with Mute in the US, which will bring their acclaimed and difficult-to-find third opus, Silent Shout, to American shores. This will mark the sibling duo's first domestic album, with a release date set for July 25. In addition, a single to the title track will be released as a CD and 12" on June 27, complete with remixes.
