PRIVATE FEARS IN PUBLIC PLACES
(France—2006—directed by Alain Resnais)

As silent snowflakes gently fall on a magical Paris, six lonely people make unexpected contact as they search – each in different ways – for love, security and companionship. Adapted from a play by Britain’s Alan Ayckbourn, Private Fears in Public Places is the most richly rewarding, enchanting and accessible film in many, many years from the brilliant Alain Resnais (Hiroshima Mon Amour, Providence). Featuring a sparkling ensemble cast that includes Sabine Azéma, Lambert Wilson and André Dussolier, this delicate, sometimes heartbreaking tale of love and risk in the big city is every bit as visually dazzling as it is emotionally stirring. Venice and New York Film Festivals. In French with English subtitles.

IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA
(USA—1955—directed by Robert Gordon)

A gigantic octopus is on the loose in San Francisco Bay, thanks to that monster-unleashing staple of fifties sci-fi, atomic testing. The huge beast makes straight for as many landmarks as possible, including The Embarcadero, the Ferry Building, and, of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. Effects master Ray Harryhausen achieved great fluidity of motion in the giant creature despite an incredibly small budget – a budget so low that he was forced to give the big octopus just six tentacles instead of eight! (Viewers can’t tell the difference, however, thanks to that sleight-of-hand miracle known as film editing.) Kenneth Tobey (The Thing) and Faith Domergue (This Island Earth) are the gruff sub commander and the beautiful scientist who team up to save the city from certain destruction.

[Could Not find a trailer on you tube, Sorry}

Godzilla
(Gojira, 1954, directed by Ishiro Honda)

the original uncut Japanese masterpiece about the granddaddy of all Japanese monsters, awakened by atomic testing and determined to lay waste to Tokyo. In Japanese with English subtitles.

[And sorry aging this Trailer is in Japanese with no English subtitle]

BUG
SPIDER-MAN 3

Next Week

Hairspray (PG)

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (PG-13)

Adam Sandler and Kevin James star as firefighter buddies who pose as newlyweds to take advantage of insurance benefits.

Sunshine (R)

In the near future, mankind's last hope is a space crew sent on a mission to reignite the dying sun ...but things go horribly wrong.

Dispatch From Tastefest - Day Four - July 7th, 2007

The Day started with Liz and day end with Liz

For the First time since cityfest began on Wednesday i arrived on time and ready for a gig in more ways than one as for the first time in a long time and for the first time since the "It came From Detroit Film Permerd" in October with her husband Clark Warren [past post i say Clark Kellogg, sorry for the mistake] and for the First time since her departher form the late night air wave was Liz Copeland as she kick off her own stage.[pure Detroit stage]

i sat there for the entire set as she played a selection of what she say is a love letter to her home town until her recent Move to Denver,CO, now i know i am not a die hard techno fan, but her set was very sonic as she look cool playing tunes to a crowd of just techno fans and her radio fans or just plan fans just walking around.

It was good listen to her set from the only music that matter in her life and the always good to here, i did talk to her after the gig and she tell me she move on after the best learning experienced of her life spending almost 12 years on the air in her hometown, as for her further in radio, well she did confirm she did made the move to Denver to be with her man Clark and her carried is now in as she put it "Transition" what she do next you have to found out at her web page at http://www.audiointerference.com/ or at her my space page at www.myspace.com/alternatetakeradio.

as for the other bands i saw other Saturday at cityfest after seeing a little bit of Anthony "Shake" Shakir i kill about a hour of time before i got to the Park stage where i saw Dooley Wilson for Toledo, OH who played his side guitar, he did a good job and the sound look good and after the i went back to the Pure Detroit stage to see one fo the band fotolog guy Like the High Strung which was really good. and also having a good sound as well.

then went back to park stage to see Hoenybee recording Co. band the Expatriates who are really good then i stick around to see the rock and soul band for the First time, there called Siddharta and i got to tell you they they sound very good they have a good vibe going during there live set and then i flip flop about a few times From the main stage to the park stage to see one fo my fave band "Yo La Tango" who art rock show was the perfit setting as the sun was setting, there set tonight was a good set, but some of the fans i talk to after the show said to me it was alright.

it was during the set that some one told me why i was not over at the park stage to see the GO, that is a easy Question because i was at "Yo La Tango", so i went over to the park stage not once but twice to see the Go wh was very geart in the seven song i saw them is and there sound is very good too.

So after cityfest close for the night, i walk back to a pack Northern Lights Lounge for a D.J. set Liz was doing with fellow DJ Mike Servito with Live music from Freer who played a really good live set at the northern light and i got to say it was a really fun Dance Party which last until 2:30 A.M. [Which by Michigan Law must Close] and while i was there i was dead tried from all the walking and walking i still have a blister on one of my toes.

Well tomorrow is the 5th and Final day of cityfest and among the act are Cheap Trick The Hard lesson, the Silent Year The Display, Citizen Smile and youth group of rom as i go to the new Center One More Time.
