The late Beatle's most revolutionary songs have been compiled into the soundtrack for the controversial documentary, The U.S. vs. John Lennon.

John Lennon's revolutionary songs like "Imagine," "Nobody Told Me," "Instant Karma (We All Shine On)," "Happy Xmas (War is Over)," and "Power to the People," have been compiled into the soundtrack to the upcoming feature-length documentary, The U.S. vs. John Lennon. Two previously unreleased tracks -- "Attica State," recorded live at 1971's John Sinclair freedom rally, and the film's instrumental version of "How Do You Sleep" -- will also be included on the soundtrack, which will be released on Sept. 26, just a few days before the film opens in wide release. "John sings: 'Nobody told me there'd be days like these.' That was his true confession," Yoko Ono said in a statement. "These songs have become relevant all over again. It's almost as if John wrote these songs for what we are going through now."

The U.S. vs. John Lennon focuses on Lennon's personal evolution from pop music icon to revolutionary and anti-war activist, and explores how the government assigned the FBI to monitor Lennon's activities. "Never in a million years, did we think that promoting world peace could be dangerous," Ono said. "Were we naive? Yes, on that account, we were."

Joining the ranks of artists like Madonna, Duran Duran, and Garbage, Chris Cornell will perform the theme song to the next James Bond film, Casino Royale, which stars Daniel Craig as the new Bond. With "You Know My Name," a collaboration with Bond composer David Arnold, Cornell becomes one of the few artists to both write and record a Bond theme -- Paul McCartney & Wings, Sheryl Crow, and Madonna are the others. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 17. "I've always loved Chris' work, both as a writer and as an artist, and had hoped someday to find the right film to inspire him," said Columbia Pictures' Lia Vollack, who heads the studio's worldwide music branch. "His music is both soulful and tough. It was the perfect complement to Daniel Craig and Casino Royale." British electronic mavens Goldfrapp had been rumored to be the next Bond songsmiths.

According to the group's label, Arts&Crafts, Do You Trust Your Friends, a "track for track interpretation" of Stars' last album, 2004's Set Yourself on Fire, featuring the interpretive skills of Broken Social Scene, Metric, the Dears, the Elected, and Junior Boys, among others, is due out in the fall.

And following the release of her country-tinged solo album Honey From the Tombs in May, Stars frontwoman Amy Millan is saddling up for a tour of her native Canada, making stops at the Hillside Festival in Guelph, Ontario and the Ottawa Folk Festival, as well as playing a New York show in October (her sole U.S. date at the moment).

At the moment, Stars only have two future shows scheduled: an appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 4 and one at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas on September 15.

loudQUIETloud, the Pixies reunion documentary that premiered earlier this year at South by Southwest's film festival, is now scheduled for a November 7 DVD release courtesy of MVD.

As previously reported, another Pixies DVD, Pixies: Acoustic - Live in Newport, is also on its way. It will see release on Eagle Rock Entertainment come August 22.

Stay up all night last night so i am way, way off today so all the Story are cut and Copy with the Souced in ( )

Fox announced the latest batch of A-listers primed to lend their voices to yellow-faced, four-fingered doppelgangers for The Simpsons' 18th season, kicking off in September.

Natalie Portman,Kiefer Sutherland, the White Stripes, Michael Imperioli, Joe Pantoliano, Dr. Phil McGraw and Betty White are among the eclectic group of celebs set to guest star in the upcoming season. Jon Lovitz, Harry Hamlin and Monty Python's Eric Idle are also lending their pipes to the long-running 'toon.

The season premiere, titled "The Mook, the Chef, the Wife and His Homer," follows the same mob theme as last year's season opener, and again sees the return of Joe Mantegna as Springfield's resident Mafioso Fat Tony. When Fat Tony is shot and his son forsakes the family business to become a chef, henchmen Dante (Pantoliano) and Dante Jr. (Imperioli) promote Homer to godfather status--with predictably disastrous results.

The White Stripes drop by Springfield for an intimate gig in the second episode of the season, "Jazzy and the Pussycats." Bart ends up with a mangled drumming arm after a run-in with a stray tiger Lisa rescues from the pound. He organizes a benefit concert to raise money for his operation at which Jack and Meg White perform.

Dr. Phil puts his talent for scaring small children to use in the show's annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode, airing, per tradition, after Halloween on Nov. 5. The good doctor will be joined by the equally frightening Fran Drescher and ichard Lewis.

Fox gets some synergistic mileage on Nov. 12 when Jack Bauer's alter ego drops by. In "GI (Annoyed Grunt)," While Bart narrowly escapes enlistment in the Army when he turns 18, Homer isn't so lucky. He finds himself enrolled in basic training where his laziness and indifference rile up his hardcore colonel (Sutherland).

Details on story lines involving Portman, Idle and Betty White were not released, though the network said their episodes would run in the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, some literary rock stars are also set for visits. Tom Wolfe, Gore Vidal, Michael Chabon and Jonathan Franzen will make cameos.

Which means, come next year, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has got its work cut out.

A guest spot on The Simpsons could equal something for the trophy case. Just ask elsey Grammer, who has been tapped to receive the Emmy for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance Aug. 19 for reprising his role as the nefarious Sideshow Bob last season.

The series itself is the all-time animated Emmy champ, netting an impressive 22 trophies over its 17-year span.

The Simpsons' 18th season kicks off Sept. 10 on Fox.

The troubled singer says he is recording a solo project for release this year, and plans to work on a second Babyshambles album.

Pete Doherty announced that he is working on a solo project, as well as a follow-up to the Babyshambles debut, 2005's Down in Albion. "There'll be a solo acoustic album released this year. It differs from Babyshambles because it will be just me," he told NME.com. The album Doherty is currently working on is called The Implant Sessions, referencing the implant the singer talked about getting to suppress his substance abuse (read more). "I've just been talking about getting a cottage," he said. "Just a little pond and my guitar." A spokesperson for Doherty had no further information about Doherty's new projects.

Kristin Hersh has kept busy since her old band, Throwing Muses, broke up in 1997 and then reunited to record a second self-titled album in 2003. She is putting the finishing touches on the follow-up to her sixth solo album, The Grotto, (currently untitled and without a tracklist, but mentioned plenty, albeit mysteriously, on her official blog), and she has also stayed active with her post-Muses band 50 Foot Wave.

But it seems Hersh just can't keep those Muses away, as the band have scheduled precious few live dates in August, with support from 50 Foot Wave. Then, in September, 50 Foot Wave will open for Mission of Burma's West Coast tour.

Mat Brooke Leaves Band of Horses

Mat Brooke has fallen off Band of Horses, and it doesn't look as if he has plans to hop back on. The group's co-founder (along with fellow ex-Carissa's Wierd member Ben Bridwell) hasn't been touring with the band, although he played an integral part in the creation of Horses' debut album, Everything All the Time.

An official statement from the band reads, "Mat was originally in the band to help with songwriting, and that due to his other projects taking off, he is no longer in the band."

So for those who were wondering why Brooke didn't show for BoH's performance on the "Late Show With David Letterman", there you have it.

The rest of the Band will continue to gallop across America on tour over the next few months, including, of course, a stop at the Pitchfork Music Festival

The Gallagher brothers and co. have chosen 18 singles and B-sides for the upcoming compilation, Stop the Clocks.

Oasis have announced the upcoming release of the compilation album, Stop the Clocks, which will cull No. 1 singles and B-sides from the band's catalog. Set for a Nov. 21 release date, the set will feature singles like "Wonderwall" and "Supersonic," B-sides like "Acquiesce" and "Half the World Away," and more recent releases like "The Importance of Being Idle." The band, who hand-picked their favorite tracks for the album, will release Stop the Clocks during what their label calls "a well earned sabbatical prior to starting work on new material." The final track list for the compilation has not been released.

Only five days left, and tickets for the second day, Sunday, July 30, of the Pitchfork Music Festival are completely sold out. That leaves us with no more Sunday-only passes available, and, as we told you two weeks ago, no more two-day festival passes. Sorry, folks.

Single-day passes are still available for Saturday, July 29, but they're going VERY quickly. Online ticket sales will end on Wednesday, July 26 at 6 p.m. Central time. Saturday tickets are also available for purchase at the Page Brothers Building, located at 191 N. State Street, every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., until they're gone. The Page Brothers Building is also currently hosting the rock-poster gallery show Graphic Noise, featured as part of the City of Chicago's Public Art Program. The show is on view daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A couple of other festival reminders: there will be no re-entry to the festival, and due to another event, United Center will not be able to provide parking for the festival attendees. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Even if you missed out on getting tickets to the second day of the festival, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate with us this week. Of course, there's the festival pre-party, taking place Friday, July 28 at Metro, featuring performances by Sunset Rubdown, Voxtrot, Joggers, and comedians Eugene Mirman, Todd Barry, and Aziz Ansari, as well as the Life During Wartime DJs. It will be screened tonight, July 24, and Thursday, July 27 at 8 p.m.

The second film, Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders From Mars - The Motion Picture, directed by the legendary D.A. Pennebaker, chronicles the 1973 concert that would be David Bowie's last in his Ziggy Stardust persona. It will be screened at the Siskel Center July 29 at 8 p.m., July 30 at 5:30 p.m., and Aug 2 at 8 p.m.

The Chicago Cultural Center's Randolph Café, located at 78 E. Washington Street, is dedicating its LunchBreak concert series to Chicago bands handpicked by the city's leading clubs. All of the shows start at 12 p.m., and here's what the schedule for the rest of the week looks like:

The Weather Tomorrow
Mostly cloudy in the morning with scattered thunderstorms developing later in the day. A few storms may be severe
Hi 86*
New Music Tuesday

Today is July 25th, Now i know i have hype up December 13 as the most unlucky day in music, well in detroit(Jack vs jason at the stick, and WDET-FM Dump Daytime music)but thisday is fill with trouble like on this day in 1999 as the Woodstock 99 as a riot state with bond fire, sound tower burning and proving that a three days feasival with a lot of concert and over charging for everthing on a name is not a good idea, worst yet i saw it on pay-per-view,also on this day in 1995 Nina Simone acted bad as she fires a gun at a pair of noisy teenagers playing next door to her home in southern France. She is put on 18 months probation and ordered to seek psychological counseling, yike or could be a lot worse like acting crazy before a movie that you know it was going to fail as it was on this day in 2001 as the over work Mariah Carey checks herself into an undisclosed hospital, suffering from "extreme exhaustion." months before her movie gilher flop big time, but hey things are not that bad like on this day in 1965 when Bob Dylan performs his first non-acoustic set at the Newport Folk Festival to a hostile crowd or in 1969 as Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young may it debut at the Fillmore East in New York or in 1962 as "Kid Galahad" with the King hit theaters ever where.

so there was nothing to do but do this report early before my deadline of 6 PM and ever things be posted before 8 PM untill 9 PM as the Miss Universe was on NBC<>
"30 rock" which look at life behind the scene of a SNL-type show, she will be the star in it and is also a Writer and executive producer of this half-hour show that will debut on Oct.11

she told Television Critics Association's summer meeting Saturday in LA, I'm out of the fake news business now", "I'm going to go nuts," she said Saturday. "I do not understand the train that is about to hit me. We're trying to get as much done in the writers' room now before we start and I tried to gather a staff of writers who are experienced so they can proceed when I'm on the set."

She also said on the tonight show on friday "This is the big leap I'm making, it's a show about working at a late-night comedy show", "I'm very creative."

and it you want to see a trailer for the show you can
click here we wish like to show it on from you tube but i am affied NBC will clam the copyright Infringment.

most people did not notice but i did on the season finaly off SNL on may 20th, when tina mention about Britney Spears getting haveing a second baby and it sort of match of what she prediced when she gave Biritney some advice so they pull a old clip from 2000 or 2001 wend she give her some advice on here futher.

also on that same weekend update on the season Finaly near the end they have a song near the end(i can remember off hand) and they interduce all the cather she wrote, which i thought was perfict.

Also near the end of the very same show when the cast join guest Kevin Spacey and musicial guest Nelly frttado, she wore a t-shirt that simply say "Thanks You", you must have know she was read to move on.

But she did leave some histroy with the show, she was name the first female head writer in the show 31 year histroy in 1999, then In 2000 she began to co-anchors the mid show news segment Weekend Update with then cast member Jimmy Fallon they did the segment so well for four season untill Fallon said it was his last show at the end of the 2003-04 season, she then co-anchor with the always wonderful to watch Amy Poehler(who also did the Upright Citizens Brigade on Comedy Central)it was the first time the weekend update was anchor by two women.

She did miss a one show after she gave brith to a baby girl back in 2005 , she leave the show as the Longest serving Weekend Update anchor with 118 show over 6 season, 7 show better than Dennis Miller (Longest serving male Weekend Update anchor) 111 shows over 6 season from 1985 to 1991.

Now the big question begin what will happen to weekend update will amy poheler do i alone or will she have someone else or will it be a diffent anchor of a diffend pair of co-anchor, Lorne Michaels, executive producer of "SNL" and "30 Rock" said in a statement that various individuals and duos would be tested in September to decide who will replace Fey on the "Weekend Update" segment before the new SNL season be gin in october.

or there that what if question: What if the show "30 rock" dont catch on fire and it became a dud: Conan O'Brien who host Late Night with Conan O'Brien. is scheduled to take over for Jay Leno as host of The Tonight Show in 2009, and 2009 is three years too far to name a replacement, but one of the many names that have been name as a replacement is Tina Fey.

But Tina Fey is not the only one that is leaving SNL it was also learn late saturday night that her cast mate Rachel Dratch is also leaveing the show because she also on "30 Rock" as well and she starting out on her movie carred she was in the movie "Click" this summer, and it countued a friendship that started at the second City at the e.t.c. theaher and they join the likes of dozen and dozen and dozen if i have time i would put every name on here but here a
link to there alum list
but some include Dan Aykroyd,John Candy,Gilda Radner,Mike Myers, and Stephen Colbert
and some of the famous alum for the detroit second city mostly the downtown venve (1993-2003)were Jerry C. Minor,Nancy Hayden,Joshua Funk,Nyima Funk,Rico Bruce Wade,Chad Krueger,Mary Jane Pories,Marc Warzecha,Jeff Fritz,Topher Owen, and my fave at the second downtown were
Larry Joe Campbell,Margaret Exner, Keegan-Michael Key,Marc Evan Jackson,Antoine McKay,Maribeth Monroe,and the late Eric Black.

it the latest blow to the band who first had some of there gear stolen after a concert in may and then shortly there after the whole US tour was cancel at the time thet say it was Due to illness so the band have to re-group now to keep the band going, and hope they have better luck next time.

This upcoming Sunday is the last ever tops of the pops on the BBC and all we know that Franz Ferdinand will be on it, how we know is what lead man Alex Kapranos did during taping off there last ever gig on tops of the pops alex and the band was playing their new single,"Eleanor Put Your Boots On" when Mr. Kapranos unveiled a top emblazoned with the words "Franz F--king Ferdinand" just before the group started playing.

The boss at the show will cut it before s the show go off the air Next Sunday hey it the show goes let go off with a bang and a wimper and with a hankey.

They performed without Bergsman at the Summercase Festival in Spain. They apologise to fans who were hoping to see them perform together.
