Massive Attack cancels State Theatre show

From The Detroit News

Pioneering UK trip-hop outfit Massive Attack has been forced to cancel its Tuesday concert at Detroit's State Theatre.

According to a statement from the band's management, the essential U.S. immigration visas were not issued in time for the beginning of the tour, which was slated to kick off Sunday in Toronto.

The band says it hopes to reschedule the show, along with three other canceled concerts, "as soon as possible," according to the statement.
It Came From The Late Night Music Club From Culture City with A fan tribute to Steve Irwin with music From Green Day.

As you know by now about the Untimely Death of "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin Who die Early Monday Morning(in the US EDT) From a stingray attack off the Northern Coast of Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

The 44-year-old star was being filmed for a new TV program as he swam with a stingray on the Great Barrier Reef Monday when it lashed out with its tail, plunging a poisonous barb into his chest. He died within minutes.

In the first public comments by Irwin's family since the tragedy, the elder Irwin, who started the wildlife park that his son turned into a major tourist attraction, said Wednesday both were aware of the inherent dangers of their occupation.

"Both of us over the years have had some very close shaves and we both approached it the same way, we made jokes about it," he said. "That's not to say we were careless. But we treated it as part of the job. Nothing to worry about really."

Thousands of fans have flocked to Irwin's Australia Zoo wildlife park in Queensland state, creating a shrine of flowers, candles and written tributes. Stuffed animals poke out from between flags of Australia, the United States and England, and some visitors signed and left khaki shirts similar to those worn by Irwin in lieu of a condolences book.

Bob Irwin, 66, thanked fans for their messages of support and reassured them his son had died doing what he loved.

Queensland Premier Peter Beattie had offered a state funeral, and Prime Minister John Howard said that would be appropriate, calling Irwin a great ambassador for Australia. But Bob Irwin said Wednesday it wouldn't be what Steve wanted.

"He's an ordinary guy, and he wants to be remembered as an ordinary bloke," he said.

The Outporing of love for the "Crocodile Hunter" have been present in Australia in Zoo across the US and where else On-line, So tonight Entry in the Late Night Music Club that was found on youtube thur a link at VH1 Best week ever sight.

Suri Cruise Do Exisit?

Well tongiht on the Debut CBS Evening News with Katie Courice at about 6:50 PM the Show debut the first ever picture of little Suri Cruise to show the World yes Virgina She Do Exiset.

UPDATE at 7:53

(CBS) Suri Cruise, the offspring of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, finally made her public debut Tuesday night when Katie Couric showed pictures of the 4-month-old girl during her first night as anchor of the CBS Evening News With Katie Couric.

The broadcast marked the first time images of Suri, the daughter of Cruise, 44, and his fiancé Holmes, 27, have been made public since her birth in Los Angeles on April 18 — ending months of speculation about the celebrity baby.

Photos of Suri with her parents in a photo shoot by Annie Leibowitz will appear in print in the pages of Vanity Fair magazine out Wednesday. Some were shown on air.

The cherubic-looking infant, who sported a full head of jet-black hair, was being held by her parents in the two shots shown on the newscast. Contrary to tabloid reports, little Suri appeared to be quite normal, with all fingers and toes intact.

The public's insatiable need to catch a glimpse of baby Suri has been fueling the tabloids ever since her birth. Unlike other many other celebrity babies' parents — like Shiloh, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who made her debut in People magazine shortly after her birth — Cruise and Holmes did not release photos of their new addition.

The absence of pictures sparked discussion on blogs and stories in tabloids about why the couple was keeping the baby out of the public eye. A July cover of Star magazine read: "What's Wrong With Baby Suri? —& Why Is Katie Hiding Her?"

In recent months, celebrity pals of the couple (affectionately known as "TomKat" in the tabloids) came forward seemingly trying to debunk rumors that the parents were hiding their child because there was something wrong with her.

"King of Queens" star Leah Remini, who first saw Suri at Cruise's home in July, said there was nothing mysterious about the youngster.

"Suri is just like every other baby," she said. "She pees in her diaper, she sleeps, she wakes up every couple of hours. This is what babies do, OK; there's nothing abnormal about her."

Remini also defended the couple's decision to keep their baby out of the public eye.

"I think it's really scary," Remini said in a recent E! news interview. "It's their baby, you know what I mean? Unless you've been in a situation with these paparazzi, I fully support to not take your baby out in that environment — I support people who go — look it's my kid, I don't have to show you a picture, I don't have to do anything."
Cruise's ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz, and friends Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith all have spoken to the media about their visits with Suri.

Suri is "gorgeous," Pinkett Smith told People magazine in July.
"She's one of the sweetest babies I've ever met in my life, She's an absolute beauty, and she's Daddy's little girl."

The magazine reported that the couple visited Suri twice, both times at Cruise and Holmes' Beverly Hills mansion.

"She's beautiful and they're very happy and they need to be left alone," Pinkett Smith told the magazine. "She's the cutest little baby. She's got a head full of black, beautiful hair."

Cruz, who dated Cruise from 2001 to 2004, declined to offer details of her meeting with Suri this summer, but praised her as a special baby.

"She's really beautiful. She's one of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen," the 32-year-old actress said. Cruz was in London Thursday night to attend the British premiere of her new film, "Volver."

It seems people will do anything for a look at today's celebrity babies. At Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in New York, a wax statue of Pitt and Jolie's daughter, Shiloh, was a popular site for tourists.

The "Where's Suri?" debate even became fodder for the morning shows. Katrina Szish, a contributing editor for Us Weekly magazine, appeared on The Early Show in July for a "TomKat Chat."

Us Weekly's Web site was equipped with a "Countdown Clock," calculating how many days, hours, minutes and seconds it has been since Suri was born without the public seeing her.

"I don't think we're going to be seeing her any time soon," Szish told co-anchor Renee Syler at the time. "I think the clock is going to keep ticking away. I don't guess we'll see her before she is 1 year old."

That prediction would be in line with Cruise's Scientology beliefs, which call for keeping children safely removed from outside influences. It was several years before photos were made available of Isabella and Connor, the two children who were adopted by Cruise and his ex-wife, actress Nicole Kidman.

"It's not out of character for Tom to be very protective of his children," Szish said, acknowledging the public's hunger to see the baby.

"Especially with the TomKat situation," she added. "His courtship of Katie Holmes was so public, engagement so public, pregnancy so public. They really did make us hungry, and now they're not … following through on that. That's what makes this one extra delicious. We're just waiting to see that baby."

Well, the wait is finally over.

Katie Big Debut Show Review

"Hi, everyone","I'm very happy to be with you tonight."

That was the First Words Said Out of Katie Couric as she Anchor the CBS Evening News For the Very First Time after all the Hyped afher 15 years of doing the Moring Sifte on a Andoher Network, Her Prime time Debut was just the Same as as any other Newscast over the last 50 years the Diffence was who was doing the Newscast, the News on CBS was spit up in to two Half no.1 was today news in a nut shell with a Exclusive by Lara Logan on "The resurgence of the Taliban:" and "Change in strategy: War on terror" and the rest of the Newscast was a little Light Fare with the very OK, Which have the First picture of Suri Cruise in Vantiy Fair.

They did a very good job with the Set, Graphed, and look of there Newscast they have even have the Great Walter Cronkite doing the Intro which thought was very good from the Old school to the News School.

But Overall i think tonight First news cast was very good, nothing special as it go along it was a very good Debut for Here First show, it was proable the same NewsCast you would see on ABC or MBC No Matter Who Was doing the newscating

But to thouse Review out there i say Dont Worried She Will be Fine.

Reaction From Tvnewser.com

"The Evening News looks great!"

> "It feels like Dateline. Not a newscast, and not 60 Minutes. More like a blend of news and Extra. Dateline is the closest thing. Yikes..."

> "CBS now has my 'eyes' at 6:30pm. Good mix of top stories, well-paced, and other features that are, at least, somewhat unique. The set and graphics rock, and Uncle Walter, though not the voice he was, still adds a 'signature' touch..."

> "While NBC Nightly News was updating viewers on Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's operation, CBS was showing pix of baby Suri. Enuf said..."

> "It just didn't seem like they had as much news as they did when Scheiffer was on there..."

> "Watch for instant dissing from the right-wing blogosphere. Tom Friedman bashed Bush. And Morgan Spurlock is not exactly a conservative pin-up boy, despite the pro-civility message..."

> "The Katie Show wasn't worth the price of admission. The gimmicks can't be repeated, so tomorrow and the next day will be better indicators..."

Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin killed by a stingray

To my readers this is no Joke it happend

BRISBANE, Australia (AP) — Steve Irwin, the Australian television personality and environmentalist known as the Crocodile Hunter, was killed Monday by a stingray barb during a diving expedition, Australian media reported. He was 44.

The accident happened while Irwin was filming an underwater documentary on the Great Barrier Reef in northeastern Queensland state, Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported on its Web site.

The paper and other Australian media reporting the death cited police or state government sources.

Telephone calls to Australia Zoo, Irwin’s zoo in southern Queensland, were not immediately answered.

Report posted at September 04, 2006 01:13 am

UpDate at 2:20 AM, here is the First report from the Daily Telegraph in Australia over a Hour ago:

CROCODILE Hunter Steve Irwin has died after a string-ray barb caught him in the chest.

The 44-year-old international TV star was swimming off the Low Isles at Port Douglas filming an underwater documentary when the incident happened.

Ambulance officers confirmed they attended a reef fatality this morning at Batt Reef off Port Douglas. It is understood Irwin was killed around midday.

Irwin leaves his wife Terri and young children Bob and and Bindi.

The blonde star of Crocodile Hunter, who made khaki shorts and boots his uniform all year round, was an Australian icon.

But his reptile wrestling antics thrilled overseas audiences even more and he became a fixture on US television in the past decade.

The son of naturalists Bob and Lyn Irwin, Steve learned to live with dangerous reptiles from a young age at the family’s Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park.

He opened his own Australia Zoo in Queensland in 1991, leading him to record the hugely popular Crocodile Hunter the following year.

His catchcry of “Crikey!” brought the unfashionable Aussie phrase back into vogue.

Irwin’s work had a serious side. He was recently made the face of Australia’s quarantine laws and appeared in TV advertisements urging travellers not to endanger Australia’s unique flora and fauna by bringing in foreign specimens.

For all his love of animals, Irwin’s first duty was to his US-born wife, Terri Reines, who appeared by his side from the very first episode of the Crocodile Hunter. In 1998, their daughter Bindi Sue was born and drafted straight into the family business.

A son, Robert Clarence, was born in 2003 and Irwin made world headlines - and suffered a dent on his popularity - when he took the baby boy into a crocodile enclosure, leading critics to accuse him of neglect.
