It's 9 O'Clock with a heavy heart

Today News post is kind of a sad one for any one who follow music and this include music from the UK.

As the Editor of this Local indie music blog Sight, it is my sad duty to report tonight that Anthony Howard Wilson Owner of Factory Records, radio and TV show host, nightclub manager, promoter and Newsman have pass away tonight in a hospital in Manchester, England at the age of 57.

Tony have been battling kidney cancer, which he was diagnosed last year which he public reveal early this year, He had his kidney remove and had undergone chemotherapy for the cancer, at the time of his death, he was being treated with the life-prolonging drug called Sutent.

A spokesman for the hospital said in a statement to the UK News press: "Tony Wilson died peacefully at the Christie Hospital at 6.05pm[1:05 PM Detroit time] this evening with his family by his bedside.

"Tony was a very great supporter of the Christie and this is extremely sad news.

"We would like to extend our sympathy to Tony's family."

Tony Wilson Carred stared back in in the 1970 with when he was a TV host for Granada Television in Manchester, hosting current affairs magazine "World In Action" and the late night music show "So It Goes" which was the first outlet to show punk music and it was the 1st show anywhere to show the Sex Pistols on UK TV.

he was also the Ancocrd of there Early Evening News program Granada Reports[Just think FOX 2 News at 6, Local 4 News at 6 PM, and Ch.7 Action News at 6 PM, but in Manchester]

but his biggest mark on his Life was Factory Records founed in the late 1970's with an unemployed actor and band manager Alan Erasmus, during that time he released some of the biggest bands during the post punk era which include bands like Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays as well as other smaller less know bands like A Certain Ratio, Durutti Column, the Stockholm Monsters, ESG, the Wake, and Section 25

her also start a nightclub called the "The Haçienda" and it was mostly bankroll by label Factory Records and New Order, it was a place to show case "Factory Records" bands and a lot of dance night it was the best Nightclub in the world but it have trouble keeping it afloat 10,000 pound a months to keep it going.

The record company when bankruptcy in November 1992, five years later in 1997 "The Haçienda" close for good

in his later years he set up the UK version of the SXSW festival which is called "In The City" with long-time Girl-friend Yvette Livesey.

His life story is told in the very wonderful 2002 film "24 Hour Party People" which is directed by Michael Winterbottom and star Steve Coogan as tony Wilson, it is out on DVD and i highly recommend it.

In tribute to the great man where going to play video from you tube

The band was from in 2003 by members of the of various bands around the Halifax NS area other than there Dog Day EP, the band also released a audio tape EP and the Oh Dead Life EP, there sound is a little more laid back indie collage pop which remind the old days of early 90's pop theat came out of Halifax like Thrush Hermit and Super Friendz.

They released there debut CD which is called "Night Group" on Canadian Label "Tomlab Music

the Members are Seth Smith (vocals/guitars), Nancy Urich (bass/vocals), Crystal Thili (keyboard), and KC Spindle (Drummer)

Breaking Culture News

Breaking "Sports" Culture News

there is a new home run king

SF Giants OF Barry Bonds when over the top of baseball all-time home run list by hit ing hiis 22nd homer of the season, Which was also carrer HR 756 which break the record of Hank Aaron who hold the record for 33 years

i know you are asking the who who on that historic home run so her it go

Innings where the home run hit: 5th inning
the poor sap who gave up HR 756: Washington Nationals pitchers Mike Bacsik
what type of home run: Solo HR
how many out when the HR was Hit: 1 out
what was the count: full Count[3 ball - 2 Strikes]
Speed of the picth: 86 M.P.H.

now the commish of baseball was not at the game but did issued the Following staement:

"I congratulate Barry Bonds for establishing a new career home run record. Barry's achievement is noteworthy and remarkable.

"After Barry came out of the game, I congratulated him by telephone and had MLB executive vice president Jimmie Lee Solomon and Hall of Famer Frank Robinson -- both of whom were at the game and witnessed the record-breaking home run -- meet with him on my behalf. While the issues which have swirled around this record will continue to work themselves toward resolution, today is a day for congratulations on a truly remarkable achievement."

in a total surprize the Former record holder "Hammering" Hank Aaron who hold the record for 33 years send his congratulations by video at ATT Park in he made the Folling:

"I would like to offer my congratulations to Barry Bonds on becoming baseball's career home run leader. It is a great accomplishment which required skill, longevity and determination,"

"Throughout the past century, the home run has held a special place in baseball, and I have been privileged to hold this record for 33 of those years. I move over now and offer my best wishes to Barry and his family on this historic achievement.

"My hope today, as it was on that April evening in 1974, is that the achievement of this record will inspire others to chase their own dreams."

Now since uploading video of the feat to you tube would be a violation of MLB Copy right so i put a link to San Francsico CBS Station KPIX-TV [CBS-5]for the moment the homer happened, the video tribute and Barry talking to the fans after the game

A Link to the home run moment at KPIX-TV

as for the game the the Giants loss by giving up four in the 8th and loss 8 to 6.

New Music Tuesday

WEEK 32 [2007]
AUGUST 7, 2007

today is the first tuesday in August 2007 and this weekend i turn a year older at 34 and sadly i did not spend time with Garrison Keillor and "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show and speaking of Garrison Keillor is 65 year old today.

also on this day in 1999, [and i will admit beging a non-country fan i did see it on HBO] despite haveing No country radio station in New York City, Garth Brooks drew a really, really big crowd in at Central Park his concert live on HBO [which drew 14.6 million]broung anywhere between 250,000 to 900,000 and still to this day still have no Country music station.

and over my birthday i still mop about not haveing a girlfriend, which left me a little heartbroken like Elton John & Kiki Dee hit song "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" Which reach No.1 on the pop chart on this day in 1976.

But My Friend will always say it not worth it even if you ex-girlfriend write a song about you after a break up and that song made you a big time star, just like Alanis Morissette "You Oughta Know" which reach no.1 on Modern Rock chart on this day back in 1995.

Here hoping you are not heartbroken at the indie rock store because it now time to see all today new music from the only band that matter because today is
