Today is September 19th and on this day in 1941, Mama Cass Elliot of the Mamas & the Papas was born in Baltimore, also born on this day was Singer-songwriter Paul Williams (1940), as well as Singer Bill Medley of pop duo the Righteous Brothers (also on 1940), Soul singer Freda Payne(born in 1945 in Detroit), Nile Rodgers (1952), and worst Singer and actor and Ex-host of the old *0's Show Solid Gold Rex Smith (1956).

It was also on this day in 1973, a full 6 weeks after i was born Byrds guitarist/vocalist Gram Parsons is found dead in a hotel room in Joshua Tree, Calif.

It was also on this day in 1981 Simon & Garfunkel reunite for a concert in New York's Central Park, and also for the first time on this date in 1997 the VH1 music series, "Storytellers" is aired live.
