The Indie News Round Up

Today is March 26th

and the Weather was a prefect 80*F
a record for this day

and i was a perfect week to see some local rock with troy Gregory and the stepsister and the volbeats with Mick Collins, Patrick and the one and only Ben Blackwell spinning the vinyl.

and on Saturday at the stick i saw a good show with The Grand Nationals, Saturday look good to me and the Paybacks, [i miss the displays because i went out late because i did the last of the Fansty Baseball draft on fox sports.]

speaking about the Displays, i for got to put this down on the gig guide because i forget it in the gig guide, this Saturday at the State theater at 1 P.M. will be the third annuls Detroit news battle of the bands where 10 bands will to the do battle down town to be the best young band of all of metro Detroit

the 10 band that are playing the battle will be:

the Door opened at Noon with the show begin at 1 P.M. and after the battle you can hang out side the fox as the red Carpet arrived for the WWE Hall of Fame [same day as the Battle of the bands] at the Fox Theater the same night, it should be a fun day.

and on the heel of word that Spoon will played "Comerica CityFest" in support of there new album on July 10th have name there album and they Name it

The One and only David Bowie have announced the act for his High Line Festival in NYC on May 9-19, the Air, the Arcade Fire, and the Polyphonic Spree. Deerhoof, the Secret Machines, and Meow Meow, as well as Daniel Johnston, Bang on a Can All-Stars, and comedian Ricky Gervais of the U.K.'s The Office and Extras have been announced as performing acts for the festival

Ticket from the event will go to Friends of the High Line, a group of activists attempting to preserve the High Line.
