THE WARHOL EFFECT

A one hour documentary highlighting the influence Andy Warhol has had on pop music in the last 40 years. Painter, filmmaker, photographer, philosopher and all-round celebrity, he revolutionized art by bringing to it images from popular culture – such as the Campbell’s soup can, the Coca-Cola bottle and Marilyn Monroe’s face; while his studio, `The Factory’, where his free spirited cast of `superstars’ mingled with the rich and famous, was the focal point of the counter culture that shaped 1960’s America. Warhol transformed himself from an advertising illustrator who made art, into one of the most famous American artists alive and helped define the decade.
