The Metrotimes Hamtramck Blowout

The Metrotimes Hamtramck Blowout
Day 2 - Now in Hamtramck
March 8th

Last was the first of three full night of the Metrotimes Blowout back in the home base of Hamtramck and it was one of those night that got you asking O.K. where to go first in the big show since expect for one band [almost free who i miss going to the wrong venue, more later] did not know any band that was playing the 9 P.M. slot i did listen to every band on my space expect one or two bands that don't have a my space page i did not find anything that was worth going to so i stared the night light.

i went to the P.L.A.V Post 10 for my first band of the night Paragon and i say around three or four songs so i went down Jos. campau to the bakers streetcar bar and i was thinking i was seeing almost free.[who played the first Detroit News battle of the bands in 2005] at the Bakers but during the middle of of the set i was checking out the wrong band, The band i saw was Harwell who was good a few people for the work week.[the band almost free. was at the locker room in NE hamtown] after i went to a few venue where there was nothing, i took the shuttle bus i hoping to go see Timmy Vulger at the holbrook and a friend told me that his gig was going to begin at 10:30 PM so i was change my plans to go to the Knights of Columbus to catch the Drinking problem who played at 10:15 PM and that when the real fun Begin.

I took the shuttle which look like the old D-DOT Trolley that used to run downtown [Pre-People Movers] and that where the adventure begin it was running slow big time it stop at each venue with a real long wait going to each venue i got to the K of C almost 45 minutes after i got on, i was a little steam but lucky i did see the band after all that driving around.

I was Flip flopping between the brand new lounge stage which is inside the K of C and the big main hall, where it was transform in a concert hall/flea market as the rock 'n' rummage crew, in the Live Lounge stage i saw a all-star band which was called Drinking Problem, it a all star band with Eddie Baranek from the Sights, Korin Cox from the Hard Lessons and songwriter songwriter Dave Lawson and i got to tell you there where good with there pop rocking country sound and i went back to see Eons which was feather quite well in the Metroitmes this week and they sound good.

So. i stick around for the awesome The Muldoons and i got to tell you this it look like ever time i see The Muldoons they get better and better whit each show they play and i think it speak volumes of there Growing fan base.

I left at the end of the show and since i did not want to be stuck thanking the shuttle bus aging, so i walk from the K of C to the locker room bar Carolyn Striho but when i got there she was in the middle of her last song so i total miss the whole thing but she was good from the last show and she look nice last night as well So missing out on Carolyn Striho i went down the road to Paycheck bar to catch indie rock group I, Crime but they did not get on until 12:45 AM so i got there to early so i have a little shut eye for rest because i have a long night already.

The band was very good playing there smooth indie rock as they warm the few people who was there but a always i have to leave the paycheck and go back to the K of C but i miss Augie of the hard lessons side project with his cosions who happened to be maria from the decks which is called "Youth Group Of Rome" but i miss them, but i got to see the last band of the night "His Names is Alive" warren de Fever long time band who i got to see last time at stormy records in Dearborn when they opened up with Lisa Germano and i see this band aging and you got to like the vocal of there lead singer who go by Andy A.M.[Her Stage Name].

So Two down, Two more Days to go
and the weather for day three will be nice.
