"It's official: Hell has frozen over. Finland has won."

(The Headline in the Finnish Newspaper HELSINGIN SANOMAT)

How this happened?
Off all people or groups who sang it heart out in a song contest that is often mocks and ignored by most surrius music fans this one among them for have the cheesy and crapest song ever it will take you less then four days to forget the whole thing, Some how some way a Finnish Monster Rock band whose a lot of Finnish where afraid that would bring nation shame and church leaders who was worried they would they would begin to worship satin to the Finnish youth won Europe biggest music contest: The 51th Eurovision Song Contest.

The Heavy metal rock band "lordi" beat out 23 other country including fave Sweden, Greece, and the UK (which have a good entry "This is teenage Life" by UK rapper Daz Simpson which finish 19th out of 24) to win the contest Saturday Afternoon(Saturday Night in UK) when there song " Hard Rock Hallelujah"scored a record breaking 292 points outpaceing Russia by 42 points, The Band who sport heavy makeup and sport battle arme was the talk of the of the contest before they got to Greece (where it was held) because it was a rock band, not a pop of tradrion native folk band and worst it was one of those ulgy GWAR like look rock band you would was to play the Magic Stick but more likely the dive bar in the middle of nowhere.

Many Finnish people were so scared they would be a nation embearment they even tried to plead the Finnish President Tarja Halonen to veto the choice and sent some body else better then a heavy metal act, But they perform and it break Finland 40 years of losing at contest and now they will have to put on the the Contest Next Year in the Finnish Capiot of Helsinki, only problem there home broadcaster The Finnish Broadcasting Company is cash-stapped ouch!

If you want to see what the hub-bud about you can go to
youtube.com and type in Eurovision in the you can see the winning song as well as the UK enter live and the Video for "this is teenage Life" and yes the Worst song of the contest which got a lot of jeers form LT United representing LITHUANIA, The Song is call "We Are Winners" Yuck

oh buy the way if you want to hear the three hour cheese fest it avblie until Saturday afternoon at 3 PM at
www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 and you probole won't remember what happened after that.

That was the only bad thing that happened over the week.

The good thing that happened over the weekend

As the pistons pull off the Great escape by winning in Cleveland on Friday Night 84 to 82 to force game seven back in Detroit where after a three game absent the defense came back at the place and as the Detroit Free Press say it "D-throned!" and sent King LeBron and his merry Men Back to Cleveland with 79 to 61 victory, Tayshaun Prince have 20 points to take the series in seven and now we await the Miami Heat Which will start tomorrow Night at the place and the rest of the seriers goes something like this:

EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS:
PISTONS VS. HEAT
Game 1, Tuesday: Miami at Detroit, 8 p.m., ESPN

From Pitchfork.com

Belle & Sebastian Tap Franz, Lips for Benefit Comp

They've come full circle: Belle and Sebastian, the band named after a children's book, is now making music for children. B&S's Mick Cooke has curated an as-yet-untitled compilation CD benefiting the non-profit Save the Children organization, slated for release September 11 on Rough Trade in the UK. It features children's songs from Franz Ferdinand, Four Tet, Snow Patrol, the Flaming Lips, the Fiery Furnaces, Kathryn Williams, the Divine Comedy, Travis, Jonathan Richman (aren't all of his songs children's songs?), and Rasputina, among others. So far, only the title of Rasputina's contribution ("A Skeleton Bang") has been revealed.

Spoon Reissue Early Recordings

Remember Merge's plan to reissue the first two Spoon records sometime this year? Well, it seems that sometime is upon us. eBay hotcakes Telephono and the Soft Effects EP will be re-released on Merge come July 25. The pair will be packaged together as a double-disc; while no bonus tracks have been tacked on to either album, the video for "Not Turning On" will be included.

Speaking of videos, Spoon recently debuted the Ryan Junell-directed clip for "The Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine" on their site. So scope that out.

Cursive Scripts Summer Dates

Cursive, everyone's favorite Conor Oberst-less Saddle Creek act, has announced a summer mini-tour. The band will bring thier salient brand of post-emo indie rock to select cities this July in preparation for a full-length fall tour to support their forthcoming album, Happy Hollow, out August 22. The band completed the album earlier this spring and are paring it down to 14 songs from the 20 laid down during recording. Cursive is also slated to take on a Lollapalooza slot which, hopefully, won't find them wedged between Mute Math and School of Rock, so as not perpetuate any terrible academic puns.

The Closest gig to Detroit is July the 6th at the Temple Club in Lansing

The Knife To Get US Distribution

Swedish electro-popsters The Knife have inked a deal with Mute in the US, which will bring their acclaimed and difficult-to-find third opus, Silent Shout, to American shores. This will mark the sibling duo's first domestic album, with a release date set for July 25. In addition, a single to the title track will be released as a CD and 12" on June 27, complete with remixes. No word yet on possible stateside release dates for the rest of The Knife's back catalog, including 2003's Deep Cuts.
