The Weekend

i can tell you about one thing
thank good it over, the long four days weekends of turkey, football, and the Friday after to get a X-mas gift (Where you will likely get punch than get a bragin) well that is behind us, thank fully.

as for my weekend well it was low key as low key as could be, I did see a show on Saturday at the belmont Cowboy Messiah CD Release Party for there new CD "American Zen", there live show was good did not by the CD saving up for upcoming show i did see the opened band of a group of friends that i know and there Called "The Lincolns UK" it a old school power pop rock band which made up of Mike Brown (NPFC, The Twilight babies) Mark Nachan (the twisting terranchal) and his Wife Jenny wh is pretty good on the drums.

there where pretty good for the first time i saw them, they have no show or gigs upcoming, they don't have a websight but they do have a myspace site at
www.myspace.com/thelincolnsukdetroit

Now i have not put much local stuff on this site, but since i have time in the morning i think the time is right to put some local stuff up

a few weeks ago i saw Current local music icon Melody Licious of the Sirens and she told to tell you the blog readers that the Sirens will be releaseing the new album on Feb.27 of the new year (2007) and it called "More is More" other than Melody on there fabulous lead singer Muffy K. the line up is total new, gone are MISS SHELLY (Bass, Backing Vocals,[Family]) DOUBLE D (Drums, Bass, Backing Vocals[Come On, Sunshine Doray]) BABY RUTH (Guitar, Backing Vocals[Solo stuff, and a pretty cool chick in a recent Metrotimes Motor City Rides on her ride.)

New to the group is MIGGY STARCRUNCH(Guitar, Backing Vocals) MISS LEANN(Bass, Backing Vocals[and is also in the band Ghost City]) MALARSH(Drums) they have a couple of new track off the album (1234 Rock n roll and Go Back) are on there sparkling glam yellow my space sight at www.myspace.com/detroitsirens and there web sight is also sparking glam yellow at thesirensdetroit.com where if you click shows you know that there playing this Saturday at The Shelter Opening for Exene Cervenka(of X) & The Original Sinners the show start at 6 PM.

also coming out with a new album in 2007 and maybe a most important follow up in Detroit music history, The Von Bondies who will released there third Album(Four, if count there live album Raw and Rare) "Love, Hate, and then there's you" which will out in March of 2007 and the reason i mention this because i a disstion with a lead singer and other info that pop up in the band Wikipedia page that they have a new bassist, yes you hear me correct there have hired bassed player no.4 (the other three Lauren Wilcox (2001) Carrie Smith(2001-2004) and ine Smith (autumn 2004-2006)) the later of the three left the band to go back to her home state Califolrida and now they hired bass player no.4 and she hail from just over the Detroit/Windsor Boarder and up the 401 Highway from toronto, ONT and her name is Jenny MacIsaac.

Now your asking who is Jenny MacIsaac? well she is from toronto and she is the front-woman of the all girls band tuuli (www.myspace.com/tuuli or tuuli.com) a second band called Les Six(www.myspace.com/lessix or lessix.com) she also front a thord band in TO called the vicious guns(www.myspace.com/theviciousguns) and not only that from here own myspace page( www.myspace.com/amethysttrash) she is a pretty good Fashtion desinger desinging Shirts and dresses.

I did see pictures of the Bondies With Miss MacIsaac i was going to put a link to it, but i could not remember the my space page where i found it, but i did fine a video of her main band Tuuli on you tube (Which i found on her and the band Myspace Page) and it called "It Over"

and speaking of live and local gig since it now in the Holiday season i have to mention about the Annual Detroit Rock n roll X-mas show which is called DETROIT SOUNDS AND SPIRITS, the show put on by blanced slide-gitar players Dave Fenney will take place the friday before X-mas on December 22 at the stick and it a Benefit for COTS - the Coalition on Temporary Shelter in Detroit, there will be a lot Detroit local rocks stars in it so it will be a good time, Now the line up is not announced yet but it will be announced soon the show will begin at 9 P.M. and the cover will be 15 bucks to get in
