Follow Up Update

Here is a follow up to the story i broke last night on the blog on the end of Michael Colman regin as GM at the used to be cool WDET-FM the the Detroit Free Press added more to the Story in today edition (Link to the Story Here) the Interm GM for the time begin will be Nabelah Ghareeb, an administrator in the WSU office of business operations as Wayne state will conduct a national search for a new GM and is looking for a veteran radio executive.

Unlike the story in the News yesterday when Coleman told the news that he resign on Monday, Francine Wunder, director of corporate and public affairs for WSU was unsure when Coleman tendered his resignation but will be effective Dec. 31. but only she said "We know nothing more than he decided to pursue other things,"

also it have plague by really high staff turnover, as i mention on the post yesterday many people on-air and and in the Front office accroing to the Free Press almost 24 staffers including Joh Mosher, Jerome Vaughn, and Joan Silvi also they have been having troble fund raising at the station with the Fall Fund Raiser raising only $250,000 that less than 57% from there goal of $600,000, the Spring fund raiser only raise $4300,000 aldoght the they have a small incred in Lister from the Winter and spring book.

When ask about the high staff turn over and financial numbers, Wunder told the Free Press. "Obviously if people are leaving Wayne State, we're aware of the coming and going of its employees. All I know is he has resigned, everything else is still in process. People will talk -- all that been decided is that he resigned."

When mention the news about it, Ex-WDET DJ Willie Willson told me " It disappointing that WDET have Fail in the arts commitey in Detroit and how so many people have lost the job during Coleman tender at DET.

And one more thing i forget to mention in my orgin post that many NPR station not only in Detroit, but all over the country have dump there music with some news format to all news talk format.

So what will happened to the station in the next year it going to still be bumpy but i thing there still going to stick the format to see if there number improved, so will see.
