New Music Tuesday

WEEK 51[2007]
DECEMBER 18, 2007

Next week: the 2007 Culture City Festive 50

Today is Tuesday, December 18 a week before Xmas and there is nothing to highlight today on New Music Tuesday, but just to let you know Next week it the end of the year Culture City Festive 50, it the 50 band that matters in 2007.

it was also on this day music fans remember the untimely pass of British singer Kirsty MacColl who left this world far too soon at age 41 in 2000 but her music will live on with the timeless song played at this time of the year "Fairytale of New York" which was done with The Pogues and Shane MacGowan. always a classic.

also on this day in the same in 2000 birt music fans was also shedding a tear or two as NME most hated rival Melody Maker which was the 1st Weekly music British music magazine in 1926 publishes its last issue issue when it owner IPC Media merging with the NME.

and remember i mention on this post last week that "The Killer" Jerry Lee Lewis married his cousin Myra Gale Brown when she was 13 years old back on December 11th 1957, well 14 years and one week later they divorces, oh by that way did i mention the movie Great Balls of Fire! where his 13 year old cousin was portrayed by young Winona Ryder.

and also on a non-music related note it was this day 1932 The Chicago Bears beat the Portsmouth Spartans 9-0 in the 1st ever Championship Game now why mention this note in sport history.

Well just like on Sunday here in Detroit, the Chicago area was sock with a winter blizzard so they did not used there home field at the time Wrigley Field so they move the game the home of the NHL Chicago Black Hawks "Chicago Stadium" in what was called the 1st NFL game played indoors and not only that pre-date the Arena Football League by 55 years [1st season was in 1987].

And not only that with Minnesota Vikings victory over the Bears last night knock out of playoff contention The Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Portsmouth Spartans, AKA these days as the Detroit Lions.[That mean the 50 years cursed continued.]

But to Briten up the Mood, It a Birthday-plalzooa today, Rolling Stones Keith Richards is still alive and still well and worst still rocking at 64, film director Steven Spielberg is 61, film critic and a guy who you seen on ET every night at 7:30 on 7 [WXYZ-TV] is 57, Jasper Guilty pleasure Singer Christina Aguilera is 27, actress Rachel Griffiths is 39, wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin is 43 so as fellow wrestler Trish Stratus is 32 so as Rob Van Dam who 37, DJ Lethal fo the House of Pain & Limp Bizkit is 35, Miss. Tom Curise and a native of Near by Toledo, Ohio Katie Holmes is 29, Actor Brad Pitt is 44.

And the Hardest working man in Detroit Rock and roll who still live in Detroit Mick Collins is 42 and resting up for the march released of "We Have You Surrounded" which will have a CD released on New Music Tuesday February 12th and alive show at the Stick on February 16th
