Today is July 29th, and on this day in 1945 the British Broadcasting Corporation launch BBC Radio light for light entertainment and music it was in service from 1945 to 1967 until radio one rename BBC Light to what we know it today as radio one which gave us Chris Evans, Zoe Ball[who was once married to Fatboy slim], Noel Edmonds, to the current day DJ Edith Bowman, Jo Willey, Anna Mac, Zane Lowe, Annie Nightingale, Rob da Bank, Huw Stephens and my fave Radio One DJ Steve Lamacq and don't forget a man name Peel.

and part of there public duty they have to do news and among the story on this day in 1981 was Prince Charles of Wales marry Lady Diana Spencer in the biggest wedding we ever seen with a world wide television audience of 750 million people.
