Mondays: 6:30 PM

Programme 3 - John Sebastian
Suzi talks to singer-songwriter John Sebastian.

John's father - after whom he was named - was a renowned classical harmonica player, and his mother was a script writer for radio.

He grew up surrounded by music and regular visitors included Burl Ives and Wood Guthrie. He was inspired by the late 50s folk music revival and made his debut as a member of the Even Dozen Jug Band.

Having made a name for himself on the folk scene of New York's Greenwich Village, he formed The Lovin' Spoonful, whose hits included Do You Believe In Magic, You Didn't Have To Be So Nice, Daydream and Summer In The City.

In 2000, he was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.

Too Much Too Young -
The Story of 2 Tone

Part Tow on this Saturday at 2:04 PM EDT

Paul Sexton traces the history of 2 Tone records and the band at its centre - The Specials.

1979 saw Ska explode onto the UK's music scene. Leading the wave were The Specials, who tackled social issues, unemployment and racism through their music.

The band were signed to the 2 Tone label, which was the brainchild of The Specials' Jerry Dammers, who wanted to create his own Motown Records - in Coventry.

2 Tone scored seven hit singles, a top-ten album, and a sell-out UK tour - all within its first year. The label also launched the careers of Madness, The Selecter and The Beat.

Featuring new interviews from The Specials, Madness, The Beat and The Selecter, Paul will also talk to Pete Waterman, Don Letts and Garry Bushell to follow the highs and lows of the label and its bands.

Day 2
Sunday, August 9th

as the time you read this a midnight
day three is full underway.

and Oh My god Day three of the Olympic got some drama big time as the end of the 4 x 100m freestyle relay was one of the best of all time, it look like the French was back up the talk and win the event claming they can sink Michael Phelps and Co., but thet almost back up the talk but if was not for Jason Lezak 46 seconds flat on the last lag we would be holding sliver.

Michael Phelps got his second gold, only six more to go

also winning Medal on was Katie Hoff in the 400-meter freestyle it look like for a moment she was going to take home gold and then she nix at the wall by Rebecca Adlington of Britain, and was relagated to the sliver, have not take the top of the podium yet.

also in the swimming final

Japan Kosuke Kitajima won gold in the Men's 100-Meter Breaststroke
Aussie Lisbeth Trickett beat out Christine Magnuson for the Women's 100-Meter Butterfly Gold.

Also, The big warm up to the backyard flip flop cold gym showdown took place
as the women gymnasts team qualifications took place at the National Indoor Stadium,
and as expect both the Chinise and the american finish on top of there group in there sesstion, but the China was a little bit better than the star and stripes girls but not but much.

The American did good despite some mistake on the Floor and on the bars and worst one them member Samantha Peszek twisted her ankle during warm up and was force to do one event the Bars. But did make up for it on Beam to keep it that close.

So that set the big team final on Tuesday Night [EDT] so this this will be glam brawl on the gym floor.

The NBA Stock USA Basketball team began there quest to recalm the gold after a disapointing Brozen back in 2004 in Athens, there 1st opponet was China and there famost big man Yao Ming of the Hoston Rockets who playing his first game since injery his ankle during the NBA season.

The chinese made it very close during the 1st quarter getting with in four as they trail 20-16 but the US team pulled away with a big three quarter where they lead 25-11 to pulled away to win 101-70, Miami Heat Dwayne Wade lead all score with 19 points, follow by his royal scoreness Lebron James have 18 points.

Yao did wall for the chiness with a double-double haveing 13 point and 10 rebounds, and for all you piston fans Tayshaun Prince played eight mintues and have three rebounds.

So After about the end of Day Two
so here is the Medal standing
[Not counting the early morning medal event]

China - 8 [6 Gold]
United States - 8 [2 Gold]
South Korea - 5 [3 Gold]
Italy - 4 [1 Gold]
Russia - 4 [No Gold]

Tommorrow in Day 3

- USA vs. China in woman Hoops and in Water Polo
- And more Michael Phelps.

Pioneering singer/songwriter Isaac Hayes
Pass away at 65

yesterday was bad with Bernie mac
but today Another One pass on

i was just learn the the one and only
Isaac Hayes the man who gave us theme music
to the classic movie "Shaft" was found dead in his home in
MEMPHIS, Tenn.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says to the AP, a family member found Hayes unresponsive near a treadmill on Sunday. He was pronounced dead about an hour later at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. The cause of death was not immediately known

He laid the groundwork for disco, for what became known as urban-contemporary music and for romantic crooners like Barry White. And he was rapping before there was rap.

and then in 1971 he set the movie world and not only that the music world on fire with his intermential version of the urban cop drama "Shaft" which he wrote and preform "Theme from Shaft" which won Best Original Song Oscar in 1972.

He is also is a three times Grammy awards winner two in 72 for Best Instrumental Arrangement and Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or a Television Special for "Theme from Shaft" he also won in 73 for Best Pop Instrumental Performance By An Arranger, Composer, Orchestra and/or Choral Leader for the album "Black Moses"

But gain new fans in 1997 when he Voice the sensible school cook and devoted ladies man they call "Chef" on the TV Show "South Park" for about nine years.
