Good Evening, i Am back after almost a week away fro covering the Comerica Tastefest and writing about it on this blog sight and i think i was the only live and local preson to keep this blog sight update during Tastefest wheld ever one took the forth of July off, i spend my entie day yesterday cauch up on my sight have some troule updating yesterday last update from tastefest and worst one of my ears fill up with ear wax ouch what a bad time to happend because dress bessy is in town on monday night at the belmont so i going to buy hydrogen peroxide and some ear drop today during this writing so since i been gone for the entire week let do some catch up of everythings that happend from my last report last thursday(06/29)(Which was not much) to yesterday (7/05).

Now that the Taste fest is now over and The next date in the underground outdoor caldear is the Forth Street fair located on 4th street just off Holden street between Forsyth and 3rd street or if you follow the freeway when i-94 south merge to M-10 North, it a one day street fair with three stage the main stage 4th street stage, the park stage near 3rd street and a small park stage when you enter 4th, it will take place on July 15th, that only a week and a half away and during tastefest two band have told me they will play tastefest The Moldoons will play the 4th street fair also the young just out of high school band The Decks are going to play the 4th street fair, Now that the only two i know that play the forth street fair now if you been contact to play the forth street fair let me know about it you can e-mail this blog sight at this address:

the Rapture will release "Get Myself Into It", the first single from Pieces, on August 21 in the UK. For the time being, however, you can hear it on the band's MySpace page.

Another way you'll be able to legally hear new Rapture music before the album's release is by buying EA Sports' new Madden NFL 07 video game, which will feature the song "W.A.Y.U.H." on its soundtrack, alongside tracks from Wolfmother, Spank Rock, Keane (?!), Lupe Fiasco feat. Currently in the throes of an epic world tour (which started in June), Massive Attack just announced a U.S. tour, their first in eight years. The trek includes an appearance at L.A.'s Hollywood Bowl, a three-night stint at New York's Roseland Ballroom, and headlining gigs at the V Festival in Toronto and Austin City Limits.

Sixty thousand festival-goers got a sampling of Massive Attack's current live show at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Fest in April. With a line-up featuring two drummers and vocals by Horace Andy and former Cocteau Twins' singer Elizabeth Fraser, Massive Attack played live renditions of "Angel", "Karmacoma", and "Safe From Harm", among other classics.

Virgin's hugely popular British rock fest, the V Festival, will drop into Toronto's Island Park on September 9-10.

There are over 40 bands on the Toronto roster, including the Flaming Lips, Massive Attack, Gnarls Barkley, the Raconteurs, Wolfmother, Phoenix, the Hidden Cameras, the Dears, Jose Gonzales, Starsailor, Alexisonfire, Zero 7, Eagles of Death Metal, Thrice, 2ManyDJs, K'Naan, and Sam Roberts Band. The fest aims to draw 50,000 concertgoers, which just might happen, considering the British V Festival sold out in a mere three hours.

The V festival will make its U.S. debut at Baltimore's Pimlico Race Course on September 23. (Alas, Branson didn't do any rappelling into Bodymore.) Gnarls Barkley and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are the only acts confirmed for that one so far, with the full lineup to be revealed July 10.(pitchforkmedia.com)

Those crazy mofos in Gnarls Barkley have added even more dates to their world tour, as their debut album, St. Elsewhere, continues to climb the charts. (It's currently number eight on the Billboard 200!) On August 14, they'll hit David Letterman; we hope by that point, they're dressing up like Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Left-wing English rocker Billy Bragg has won a small victory for the little guy, as his actions have caused Rupert Murdoch-owned MySpace to change their copyright ownership conditions. Unhappy with the previous terms that stated that MySpace had legal ownership over any form of content posted on the site (including photos, videos and music), Bragg pulled his music from the site. Seeing a potential disaster if all musicians followed suit, MySpace changed the rules to state that they no longer claimed rights over content posted on the site, but instead held temporary license to use and modify content if necessary. The non-exclusive license is mostly for digital compression and technical use and only lasts as long as you have content on your page (you can read up on it in Section 6 of the MySpace.com Terms Of Use Agreement). In other words, both basement musicians and rock stars can breath a sigh of relief, knowing that their prized tunes are safe on the site. (cmj.com)

The best and brightest stars of the Portland, Oregon music scene have all been captured in one place, on non-profit organization PDX Pop Now!'s third double-disc compilation. The album will feature a diverse range of artists and genres and will include previously unreleased tracks from Stephen Malkmus, the Thermals, Menomena, Viva Voce, Vursatyl (of Lifesavas) and Talkdemonic. The 40-track release will be available July 11 in select independent record stores and online vendors. In the spirit of the all-inclusive organization, the compilation will retail for just seven bucks a pop. Proceeds from sales will go straight to the third PDX Pop Now! Music Festival, a three-day, all-ages, free music extravaganza of almost 50 bands representing all limits of the Portland music spectrum, which will be held July 28-30 at Loveland.

The MySpace post was casual enough: "Dave plays in Gang Of Four and runs Pampelmoose. John plays in Tracker and runs FILMguerrero. Danny plays in Menomena and runs with the Devil. Let the fun begin!" But that announcement marked the introduction of Faux-Hoax (pronounced Folks), a new outfit featuring Gang Of Four bassist Dave Allen, along with guitarist John Askew and drummer Danny Seim.

"The band is an extension of an outfit I had here in Portland called Squall, which also included John and members of the rap outfit Lifesavas," Allen told us via e-mail. "We asked Danny to help us out by playing drums on some recordings early this year and the sessions went so well that we decided to start from scratch, so Faux-Hoax was born."

The band has already posted one song on their MySpace site. "Your Friends Will Carry You Home" features vocals and words by Portland-based musician Adam Gnade. "Dave, John, and I are just throwing different ideas around without worrying about fitting a certain theme or style," Seim told us.

"We are working on an album right now and hope to be finished in the fall," Allen wrote. "Then we'll weigh up on our options for how to release it and we will certainly be touring." (cmj.com)

Post-prog rockers the Mars Volta have announced a tracklist for their forthcoming LP, Amputechture. The album—the band's third—is their follow-up to last year's musical equivalent of a run-on sentence, Frances The Mute. Although the record has yet to be given an official release date, details surrounding its production are steadily emerging. Red Hot Chili Peppers mad genius/guitarist John Frusciante contributed axe-work to the project, something he did for the Volta's first two releases. It's also been reported that neo-surrealist artist Jeff Jordan will lend his painting "The Big Mutant" for the album's cover. This is not the Volta's first foray into this artistic enclave, having used works by legendary artist Storm Thorgerson—who also designed the cover of Led Zeppelin's Houses Of The Holy and Pink Floyd's The Division Bell—as cover art for their first two records. Tom Waits is hitting the road, and his eight-show tour of Southern and Midwestern cities includes one stop he's making for the first time in his 33-year career.

In a tour that kicks off August 1 with Waits' first concert in Atlanta since the 1970s, the reclusive singer-songwriter will play his first-ever gig in Asheville, North Carolina, on August 2. The tour also includes stops in Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Chicago, Detroit, and Akron, Ohio.

"We need to go to Tennessee to pick up some fireworks, and someone owes me money in Kentucky," Waits said in a statement about why he picked which cities he'll be playing.

Waits played a handful of live shows in 2004, but hadn't toured extensively since 1999, when he released his widely praised Mule Variations album. Anti- Records is reportedly at work on a long-awaited Tom Waits boxed set, although no release date has been set(MP3.com)

Jarvis Cocker, Pulp's charismatic frontman, releases his first song in over a year, "Running the World," and you can hear it first!

While many fans have weathered the Jarvis Cocker drought, their thirsts can now be quenched -- at least for a song's length. For his new song, "Running the World," Cocker combines a rollicking piano lick with the sexual/political sass and biting lyricism that popularized Pulp. Cocker has posted his newest creation on MySpace, as well as a brief apology for all the swearing, but we have it here for your listening pleasure. There's no word yet on when, or if, Cocker will release any additional material, but a greeting on his MySpace page is promising: "I hope this is just the start of a beautiful relationship." The Lemonheads will release their first new album in close to a decade on September 26. The eponymous disc was recorded by band principle Evan Dando along with Descendents members Bill Stevenson and Karl Alvarez. Garth Hudson of The Band and J. Legendary rock club CBGB (music) is throwing in the towel.
The New York City club that spawned the likes of Blondie, The Ramones and Talking Heads will shut its doors for good Sept. 30, after owner Hilly Kristal failed to arrive at terms with the owner of the building that houses the club.

Kristal, who opened the club in 1973 as a venue for country, bluegrass and blues (hence the acronym), had been locked in a fight for the last few years with the club's landlord, the Bowery Residents' Committee (BRC), which initially hiked CBGB's rent and claimed the club owed about $80,000 in back rent, a figure Kristal disputed in court. While a judge ruled in Kristal's favor last October, the BRC declined to renew CBGB's lease.

The closing comes despite the efforts of many prominent New York political and cultural figures, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg, to intervene on the club's behalf.(livedaily.com)
