My NME Single of the Week

This week three singles is a follow-up to a monster hit, a nice song from a hardcore rocker who i dont like, and a song about something i dont do a lot when i dont do my blog.

This week winners from the N.M.E.
Gnarls Barkley - Smiley Faces (Atlantic)
(
gnarlsbarkley.com or www.myspace.com/gnarlsbarkley)
This is the big follow up From a very good master sone Crazy from the alblum "ST. ELSEWHERE" which spen nine weeks on top and became the 1st no.1 single on download alone, The second song from the UK Experimental soul band is not quit thew level of Crazy, the song keep a very good flow of pace between song and the music but it slow down near the end, but it is a nice listen song.

this Week first runner-up from the N.M.E
Peaches - Downtown (XL)
(
www.peachesrocks.com or www.myspace.com/peaches)
OK i will admit i am not a big fan of Peaches her live stuff is too heavy for me, aldough he did duet with the one and only Iggy pop ibn the last alblum, but this track from her new CD "Impeach my bush" is a very good sounding this song is set to a late 70 or early 80 beat it some thing that the electic mojo whold be proud of and keep on moing ture out the song, it very good.

This week second runner up by the N.M.E.
Love Is All - Busy Doing Nothing (Parlophone)
(
www.myspace.com/loveisall8)
This is a song from the Sweden band it OK but listen to the song i think did some body turn up the volume, if you listen it sound like a calm down of the yeah, yeah, yearh, it a OK Track but it a little disorder.

So we have three songs all whorly of the title of single of the week all three are good but not good engouht, Gnarls Barkley new song is not up to snuff with there mega hit Crazy but good, Phaches have a good track that would play good anywhere but dost not move me engouht, and the Love is All was OK but not good so that mean i have to pick a winner from outside the Box, so i listen to the other song that was feather in the same NME issued(June 24 - Kooks) and we have a winners

The Winner of this week My N.M.E Single of the week is

Dirty Pretty Things - DeadWood (Vertigo Records)
(
www.dirtyprettythingsband.com or www.myspace.com/dirtyprettythingsofficial)

It looks like Carl Barât did not miss Pete Doherty that much not by a little bit this band born out of the ashes of The Libertines show that this bands is a lot better than if they did have Pete Doherty still doing The Libertines the track is a ver rocking good track and to prove that carl Barât is a better man then pete Doherty ever will be.
