Breaking Culture News

This Just in From the Web.

Video From Last Night
So called Rock'n'Awe Countdown to Guitarmageddon"
between the Decemberists(Chris Funk) and Stephen Colbert (With the Help of Peter Frampton)
(From Comedy Central)

it came from the late night "X-MAS" music club from culture city

It Thursday, Four Days left to X-mas

A before the Holiday break how about some X-mas Music from The Ramones
Hey, ho, Let Go

Late Breaking Culture News

Stephen Colbert you son of a (you can not say that on this blog)

Colbert won the war but hey not counting the studio audience and a pay-off from Henry Kissinger, It was a tie.

Tonight on the "The Colbert Report" on Comedy Central the pay-off to climax of the to a funny feud between Stephen Colbert and the indie rock band the Decemberists in the 'Decemberists vs Stephen Colbert Guitar Solo Challenge'.

Now if you been living under a rock or going to the nearest mall doing last minutes X-mas shopping, here is a brief review it all stared in Early Auguest with Colbert own Green Screen Challenge with him waving a Star wars Light saber in front of a green Screen, and then the Decemberists(who released there album "The Cran Wife" a few weeks ago)did there own contest with MTVU(the Collage Channel of MTV) for the song "O Valencia!" and then the moking right wing host back saying they was Riding his Coattails and told his nation to put his footage in the Decemberists video for a Second Green Screen Challenge.

But Front man Colin Meloy issued the Challenge and said "Put down the pen, Colbert, and pick up the axe! Let's see what kind of a man you really are-- let's SHRED."

and that what happend after the 11 PM News (I was watching Local 4 News at 11 PM[ the news station of Chossed in culture city)as they tune to see Colbert and the Decemberists' Lead Guitar Chris Funk duel in what the host called "Rock'n'Awe: Countdown to Guitarmageddon"(not my words, but his)

it Start with a warm up with From "Apple in stereo" Guitars Robert Sinder (AIS Album next year) as he did his shedding in front of a green screen. and in Front of celebrity judges: Rolling Stone writer Anthony DeCurtis, Grammy-winning producer/engineer Jim Anderson, and New York governor-elect Eliot Spitzer(yes they did get the governor-elect on the State of New York).

Chris Funk did he best in the minute as his best that stun colbert as he went to break, but then like a wrestler telling he watch his back and slap him up side the head, Colbert Fack a Finger injury on a five-neck guitar stolen from Cheap Trick and was calling on a guitar god that came not by Green Screen but by the One and only FRAMPTON (That Peter Frampton to the rest of us)do what he dose best Jam.

the vote was DeCurtis (Who say he would pick the winner if Jack White was in it) Pick Colbert/Frampton, Anderson going with the indie Kids with the Decemberest and Anderson and Spitzer who not going to take a Bribe From cobert did not vote so the fix was in as the paid off studio audience and Kissager told us America won.

And so it was America win and the blogger taking this silly little Faux feud over a green screen, Hook Line , and sinker.

so after the show Peter Frampton, Chris Funk, Robert Schneider, Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen(Who play the theme of the show opending), and Stephen Colbert have a all star jam.

We dont have video yet as of 3 AM (typing this report)

nothing on Comedy Central web sight or you tube but if there is video will show it to you.

(Oh! by the way,
the Decemberists Crane Wife is out Now, Peter Frampton Fingerprints is also out(and Still a Guitars God), Apples in Stereo's will released New Magnetic Wonder on Feb. 7(AIS member John Hill is also in one of my favour bands Dressy Bessy), and Cheap Trick have a new one out it called Rockford released in the middle of the year, and one more note Eliot Spitzer will be sworn in as governor of New York on Jan. 1)
