BLOWOUT LINE-UP RELEASED

It Is Last day in January, and the line up for the 12th Annuaul Metro Times Hamtramck Blowout Have Been Released today on the Metro Times web site at http://www.metrotimes.com/
After months of asking for bands for this year blowout and a long seletion prosecce the blow out line up was released after a lot of internet posting on there band my space and a posting last week on the Eat This City Blog

First let you in on the details

The Blowout will happend from March 4th to March the 7th with the blow out per- party happening at the Majestic Theatre Center on March 4th with music at the stick and the Big Theatre[Majestic Theatre] there will be a DJ at the garden bowl but unlike last year there will be no Stage inside the Garden bowl lanes itself

and then from the 5th to the 7th, it will be all shift back to it long time home in Hamtramck where it will be held in 13 venues around hamtown, that down for 17 venues from last year blowout

They will take place aging at these location:

ATLAS BAR, BAKER'S STREETCAR Bar, THE BELMONT, JEAN'S Bar, KELLY'S BAR, KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS[Both the big room and the Lounges], 3141(Formaly LOCKER ROOM), The NEW DODGE Lounge, PAINTED LADY Lounge, PAYCHECK'S Bar, SMALL'S and WHISKEY IN THE JAR

this year blowout is almost all rock there is no country music show case this year[sorry fans for Local 4 Ancore and Contry music singer Devin Silcan] and no R and B, Jazz, Blues or Rap Showcase in this year blow out

Now The set time are not set yet but here what we know

First the Blow out preparty at the Majestic Theatre Center and and the band playing the Magic Stck are The Octopus, Child Bite, Electric Fire Babies and headling the night at the stick will be Silverghost.

Early today i got a myspace bullent to learn that The Pipettes show for this upcoming wednesday at the stick have been cancelled and worst yet accroding to the post they will reschueld the whole tour but the show at the Stick was not on of the reschueld gig road map.

Now 1st why is beging postphone in the 1st place, According to the myspace post that the band from Brighton, England visa paperwork being delayed and there going to start the tour on October 25 in Los Angeles

The Nosiettes Cancel there tour Including the "Detour" Launch party on Sept.21 at the Stick.

For the second day in a row, A UK band that was support to tour Detroit have pulled out.

Yesterday it was the Kaiser Chiefs pulled out of there gig a the Majestic and now the Nosiettes have cancelled there entire US tour including there September 21st slot at the "Detour" launch party

According to a press release to NME.com "The band members came to the conclusion they needed to take a break if they were going to be at their best for the tour." "They've been on the road for two years," said their agent Matt Hickey "It's frustrating and it was a tough decision for them to make, but they decided they needed to get some rest, regroup and come back and do it right."

SO that mean there is a opening for the "Detour" launch party have a opening slot for Friday, September 21st at 11:30 PM at the Magic Stick and of this post there is no replacement as of yet.

both are gig related, one of the two is a Detroit gig related and one story is conceding the heath of one band member.

First, according to an Austin360.com report, The White Stripes have pulled out of this weekend Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas according to the report producer Charles Attal cited medical reasons for the cancellation, they did not say what kind pulling out.

UPDATE AT 10:20 P.M.: it now beging confrim thur pitchforkmedia.com thur the white strips websight that the entire US tour have been cancelled, according to the press statement on the white stripes wes site[i got mine from the e-mail list] that Drummer Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time.

The Closest gig to detroit was Chicago, IL at Aragon Ballroom on Oct. 6th and 7th.

drummer Nick Hodgson told the NME "We'd like to apologise to fans in America and Canada, especially those who have already bought tickets, but something had to give. We've been extremely busy all year and had no time to focus on the future, we plan to have new material out as soon as possible and we've wanted to record all summer.

"This needs to happen before our European & UK shows at the end of the year so we can play a few of our new songs live, we're keen to explore new ground, beyond the sound of our first two records, so we're headed back into the studio to begin that process."

That mean there Detroit gig at the Majestic Theater on September 25th is total cancelled, all ticket are refundable at where you got them.

Concert promoter Live Nation issued a press released saying the TV on the radio won't be happening tonight after it was move from where the concert was going to take place Fillmore Detroit to St. Andrew Hall

but tonight TV on the radio gig is canceled

No reason was giving why

Live nation have say they will book a new date so hold on to you tickets, More details and rescheduling information will follow, you can get a refund at the point of where you got your ticket.

Today we get the good word that the reform Smashing Pumpkins have announced there North America tour and you be happy to know that billy Corgan and company have answer the called to play the motor city

Late Tonight i have received word that Lilly Allen have cancels her American Tour

According to Picthfork Media Late tonight that lilly Allen have cancel her America tour which do include the may 27th show at Midtown Detroit Majestic Theatre.

also beging cancel as well was Lawrence, KS, Chicago,Minneapolis, MN, Baltimore, Cleveland,Indianapolis,St. Louis,Dallas,Ft. Lauderdale,and Orlando, FL.

No reason was giving but according to club promoter that told pichtfork, they were told that the gigs was cancel because of ""scheduling conflicts," and it will be rescheduled in the fall but representatives from Lily's camp would not confirm that the entire tour would not be taking place.

also she is schedule to play at KCRW Sounds Eclectic Evening tomorrow and Cocahella in two weeks in near by Indio,CA.

this is the second cancel show so far today of bands that are playing Detroit, Early today the band Electrelane announce it would cancel there May 19th Detroit date at the magic Stick because they will opened two of the three shows in Chicago as part of the Arcade Fire America tour.

According to a report in Pitchfork, the awesome band from the UK Electrelane have announced that that they will be going on tour with the arcade fire for there US Tour date which included two of the Three dates at the Chicago Theatre on May 19th and 20th.

and as a result of that the May 19th show at The Stick with the the Blow and Tender Forever have been cancelled.

the band also have to cancelled shows with Montreal, Detroit, Vancouver, and Portland.

this is a make up for the band after there Europe gig with the Arcade Fire was cancelled a few weeks ago because of Win bultue losing his singing voice, there also going to played in Portland, LA and Berkley.

There New CD No Shouts, No Calls will be released on May 8th.

believe it or not, According to Filter on-line "The White Stripes" have announced that they will go on tour in North America this summer and Fall in support of there six full-length album, "Icky Thump" that will be released somewhere in June on Warner Bros. Records [there First on the label] it will start in on July 29th at the Street Scene music Festival in San Diego,CA.

The Tour continue in August and September with Muplicial dates in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Boston.

and after Jack Other band "The Racountours" skip the Detroit area completely last summer, most people think he going to skip Detroit this time around, well after almost all the disconnect from the whole scene together.

there going to play Detroit and inside the city of Detroit at the one place they can play.
