Electrical Emergency Forces Cancelled Of tonight Sleater-Kinney Concert and Webcast on npr.org
Posted at 10:42 PM For anyone waiting for tonight last ever DC show by Sleater-Kinney on npr.org, It been Cancelled for tonight but the concerty and the webcast will be Rescheduling
this was posted on the npr.org web sight after i tried to get audio and it was not come on at about 11:10 PM :
NPR.org, August 1, 2006 · In what was to be one of its final performances together, the rock trio Sleater-Kinney was scheduled to visit Washington, D.C. for a full concert, webcast live on NPR.org on August 1. However, an overheated transformer outside the club, and the risk it posed to those in attendance, forced the show's cancellation. It will be rescheduled for a later date, so watch this page for updates
This cancellation put a major Wrench in the last few show before the band end, Next week in Portland, OR next weekend
As you proable already know there have been a major heat wave acroos the country today hi temp was 97*F, Just mintuets before they go air live they found the the 9:30 club transformer was overheated outside the club and posed a risk inside the club So they Cancelled tonight date but they will Rescheduling possable Next week becase the band will played New york city Tommorrow Night and Lollapaloza in Chicago over the week end.
From the 9:30 Club Web sight(www.930.com) two opend Date between The Pretenders (sun -6th) and Gary Numan (Wen-9th) So the Sleater-Kinney Concert and webcast may be Rescheduling on monday with Tuesday as a back-up or Next Tuesday.

This Week Other Big Show other then "The Raconteurs" playing a total sold out Show in Ann Arbor.
Is a really, Really Bis show at the State Theater in Downtown Detroit a really really Big show, It going to big really popuaur Bands playing in the big show.
Headlinh the Show is the band The Flaming Lips,the avant-rock Band from Oklahoma City,Oklahoma with a real awsome stage show who is on tour in Suport of there latest CD "At War with the Mystics".
The Other co-headliners is a band who been around two years longer then the lips Sonic Youth Who is promoting there 21th Album "Rather Ripped"
And opening up the Night is a band who was going to do a show at the Stick but when the Orginal Opener Wolfmother Drop Out of the bill, the show at the stick was cancelled and they join the bill,
It the the Band From Lovely Brighton, England in the UK The Go! Team
the band is whose songs are a mixture of action theme songs, cheerleader chants, guitars and early hip-hop, with a hint of '70s funk. They place more emphasis on live instrumentation than some of their contemporaries, although they do base many of their songs around samples from various sources.
Their album Thunder, Lightning, Strike was released on the Memphis Industries label in September 2004, and has received widespread critical acclaim. In 2005 it was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize
The band's next recording, to be released in September 2006, will be a three track EP called "Doing It Right". A second album will follow. Amongst their recent recordings include a cover of Sonic Youth's "Bull In The Heather".

Important gig News as one of my fave bands Yo La Tengo will go out on tour this fall is surport of the brand New Album I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass Which Will be release on September 12 on Matador.

In the coming soon department, Jill Cunniff ex-member of the super-funky Luscious Jackson, will release her solo debut this fall. Which can tell the spectacle in 1994 when Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley made there infamous on air kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards a month after they announced on this day they got married three month ago in in a private ceremony in the Dominican Republic.
But hey this week in pop culture history is not full with MTV history on this day in 1971 "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour" is launched on CBS-TV with a short summer run followed by three seasons of "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour".
but on this day Jerome John Garcia was born on this day in 1942, but he would be later know to the world as Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead who died on on August 9, 1995 as it was cover by Futher MSNBC News host Alison Stewart who was working at the time at MTV NEWS.

After the Worst slow week ever on this blog sight i am beging fresh on this blog sight but i will only doing three day this post, 8-1 post, and a short 8-4 post i do have the usual wednesday off and also this thursday off as well, It my Birthday this week so i will rest on thursday and wont do a blog.

The only good thing i forgot to do this weekend is to see Ghost City at the Belmont so i miss my chance to see Tait from E6 and his band but i thought i miss seeing Jasper who write his own web blog call WebVomit.org it a small indie rock blog base out of detorit as well.
The first time i have hear of WebVomit.org well in the first weeks of this blog sight a very nice girl name Stephanie for her Craft blog http://councilc.blogspot.com/ who say You're turning into the new motorcityrocks!(That is a live and local Music Blog) and Jasper shot her back by saying No he's not.
So i found his blog and his also cover local music from inside and out side the 313 and it a very good web sight because he cover all the same music i like as well, so I got to the belmont at about 1:10 PM or 1:15 PM and after i said hello to the Magicial bass player Lenna Metro and her BoyFriend (yes guys she have a boyfriend) so i saw stephen palmer and he interduce me to Jasper and after talking to him he is a very nice guy who is so passion about his music as me, we talk about the scene, who the best new bands in the post jack White era and the Muse show(which he told me was awsome live), and other thing he a very nice kid i hoped i bump into him more othen as he go to show and report on his blog sight
Jasper(who by the way is not his real name, but at his request told me not to used his real name, so i wont)told his is going to Lollapalooza in Chicago this week so i hope his will give a report from the scene this weekend.
And also tell you that the big problem when doing any blog sight if your at a gig or a event is if you can find some with a internet Connection, or i have been ask the question can you take your wireless laptop to you well that pose a risk as well becaues you do mot want to lose it or worse off get it ripped off, so us blogger have a visual memory of what happend a the gig of the Event or i used the old tool of reporter every where the Notebook which is very helpful and with tool like Camera and video editing you can upload report to youtube or google video, so it may take hours or weeks to do a report, but you read about it somewhat.

and Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler of The Greenhornes and also playing the Keyboard on tour is Dean Fertita of The Waxwings, This will also be the first gig for Jack White since leaving Detorit for Nashville, TN (Which is now where he live now)and it was kind of a suprized when the band pick a Ann Arbor veneu for for there first ever gig insted a venue in Detroit.
Because it you been reading the detroit press Jack relationshipo with the whole detroit did not end well, hi-lighted by the suceess the Jack Other band the White Stripes and all the bad vibe from the many books about the rise fo the stripes incling "Fell in love with the band" by former Metro Times Music Writer and Radio Fever Chirs Handside,The Fight in the 313 with Von Bondies Front Man Jason Stollsteimer and The Recenly Royalty trial with Producer Jim Diamond(Which he recenly won back in June).

Once you pass the Domino Pizza HQ your almost there to Ann Arbor now the trip take you to the end.
Now you in Ann Arbor Continue on US-23 North for 2 miles
Then Take 1/2 miles to the M-14 exit 45 to Ann Arbor
Then Merge into M-14 West/US-23-BR South Which last a mile
Then a Short Drive (1/4 of a mile)from US-23-BR exit 3 to Downtown Ann Arbor

I Came From the Late Night Music Club From Culture City
It 9:40 PM as i tyed this, and 3:40 in the Middle of the Night in the UK and in the Break News Folder Below i put a post From the BBC on the last ever top of the pops which aired it last ever show tonight on BBC 2 Far remove from the glory years from the 60 and 70 and the 80 as i was hoping video of the last ever show would pop up on you tube, But they have not apperd yet so in this the very last video of the Nearly three weeks looking back at top of the pops i think i go indie this one last time, it from one of my fave underrated bands of all time, and there from scotland, and just Like Lisa Lobe becoming the first unsing band or artist to reach No.1, This Now long gond band(but all of them have refrom with two new members to from Data Plank)was the first unsing bands to play top of the pops

Top of the Pops bids fond goodbye
Sir Jimmy Savile opened the show as he did in 1964
Fans have bid farewell to iconic TV music show Top of the Pops which was being broadcast for the last time in its 42-year history.
The one-hour finale was a look-back over the show's four decades featuring memorable archive clips.
Many of the show's former presenters had returned - including Sir Jimmy Savile, Dave Lee Travis and Mike Read.
The BBC decided to axe the show as it could no longer compete with digital 24-hour music channels.
Sir Jimmy opened the show just as he did in 1964, but this time wearing a shiny gold tracksuit.
He was surrounded by his fellow presenters who included Janice Long, Reggie Yates, Edith Bowman, Pat Sharp, Sarah Cawood, Rufus Hound, Mike Read and Tony Blackburn.
"Forty-two years ago I said welcome on the very first Top of the Pops... but it belongs to the world now, they are going to carry the Top of the Pops banner," said Sir Jimmy.
Girl power
The first classic performance came from the Rolling Stones. The black and white clip featured the band singing their hit The Last Time from 1965.
The band were also the first to open the inaugural programme, but then the track was I Wanna Be Your Man. Sir Jimmy told the audience the BBC had lost the tape of the recording.
Audience members got into the spirit of things for the last show
The next classic moment featured the Spice Girls' Top of the Pops debut in 1996 singing Wannabe, taking the audience back to the heady days of girl power and when Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham looked very different.
Also much-changed was a very young and colourfully-dressed Michael Jackson who sang Rockin' Robin along with his brothers in a clip from 1972.
Robbie Williams in the early days of his post-Take That career followed with Let Me Entertain from 1998.
Pat Sharp described Williams as "testosterone on legs" and presenter Edith Bowerman told the audience Williams had appeared on the Top of the Pops more than 100 times.
Other artists featured included David Bowie singing Starman from 1972, Madonna in a shocking pink wig performing Like A Virgin, Wham from 1984 with Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and the more recent Gnarls Barkley with last year's Crazy.
Party mood
Almost 200 people were in the audience for show, which was recorded earlier in the week, to make history as part of the last crowd to take part in Top of the Pops.
Their mood was exuberant despite the sadness of the occasion as they cheered and clapped as each of the classic moments came and went.
"Don't the audience look fantastic and so do we," said Tony Blackburn, referring to the way many of the audience had dressed as their favourite pop stars for the occasion.
The presenters on stage also got into the party mood, cracking jokes at each others' expense just like good mates, again harking back to when Top of the Pops was in its heyday and the presenters - all Radio 1 DJs - seemed to revel in hosting the show every week.
Abba featured in a montage summing up the best of the 1970s
The studio was decorated for the event with many nostalgic elements from the programme's past such as a huge glitter ball and dry ice filled the studio and many of the Top of the Pops logos from across the decades had been brought back.
As well as the individual archive band footage, the show featured montage films capturing the best of the pop decades from the 1960s onwards.
Perhaps the best of these compilations came from the 1970s, the era of the outrageous and flamboyant glam rock and the time when Top of the Pops is considered to have been at the height of its powers.
"In the 70s Top of the Pops glittered," said Pat Sharp. "The show was in colour and the clothes were even more colourful, in fact Top of the Pops became a national institution."
The likes of Slade, Marc Bolan, Abba, Queen, Rod Stewart and The Three Degrees flashed across the scene all sporting the compulsory long hiar and in John's case his trademark oversized glasses.
The music ended with a video of Shakira performing this week's number one song Don't Stop Me Now.
"It's been an amazing show with some amazing performances," said Dave Lee Travis as the show drew to its conclusion.
But the final word went to Sir Jimmy who signed off with the once traditional "Don't forget it's number one, it's still Top of the Pops," as the audience gave one last and final cheer.
